Excise Narc Cell arrests 3
Dimapur, March 7 (MExN): The Excise Narcotic Cell on March 6 conducted raids in Riverbelt Colony and Eros Line and arrested three persons for violation of NLTP Act 1989. According to a press release from Dy Commissioner of Excise (NC) S Chanlei Angh, a total of 357 bottles of IMFL (Can Beer, Gin, rum, Whisky etc) were recovered from three different liquor outlets in the area. In this connection, three persons identified as Gyan (33), Ase Sangtam (36), Abhula (35). were arrested and penalized under relevant sections of NLTP Act 1989, the release added. Further, it stated that the department contemplates to continue surprise raids and therefore sought the support and co-operation of the public.
MP Rayja Sabha mourns
Dimapur, March 7 (MExN): Nagaland’s Rajya Sabha MP, KG Kenye mourned the demise of Enyipelo Thopi who passed away on March 6 at Chizami. Enyipelo Thopi who was born in 1928, served as Chizami Village Council Chairman, School Managing Board Member and also as advisor to NPF 17th Chizami A/C, a condolence message from Kenye stated.
NPF condoles demise of S Chuba Pongen
Kohima, March 7 (MExN): The President of the Naga People’s Front Dr Shürhozelie Leizietsü and party rank and file mourned the demise of S Chuba Pongener who passed away in New Delhi after prolonged illness on March 7. S Chuba Pongener who is the younger brother of NPF Working President Apong Pongener was a veteran regionalist, who was once an Associate Press Secretary during the UDF time, a condolence message from NPF stated. The party shares its pain and empathizes with the bereaved family members during this time of grief and sorrow, the message stated. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace, it added.
The funeral service will be held on March 9, 11 am in the private residence of late Chuba Pongener at Darogapathar (Near Olive Hospital).
