Smoking banned in all public places in Kohima

Kohima, March 1 (MExN): The DC and Chairman DLCC Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS has notified that under the provision of COTPA 2003, Section IV, prohibits smoking in all public places including police stations, public transport, prisons and jails for the public health safety. He said in a notification that indiscriminate smoking takes place in all these police stations and various means of public conveyance, which is a clear violation of the Act. He has directed the Department of police and transport to comply with the provision of law by installing prohibition signage and warning messages in all public places under their jurisdiction. The minimum size for the sign board is 60cm x 30cm (3 x 2ft) with white background.

NSCN/GPRN (K) to terminate one

Dimapur, March 1 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (K) will terminate one of its cadres from service. A press release issued from its MIP informed that after thorough deliberation with ENPO on March 1 at Dimapur, it resolved that “Mukhi Yim, CCM, NSCN/GPRN (K) shall be terminated from service for threatening the leaders of ENPO.” However, the release added they have agreed upon Mukhi to be “absorbed in the NSCN/GPRN (K) fold once character certificate is produced by the ENPO.”

Electrical consumers asked to clear arrear

Kohima, March 1 (MExN): The Electrical Sub-Division Kohima has asked all electrical consumers under Electrical Sub-Division no-1 Kohima to clear electricity bill to avoid disconnection and inconvenience. Sub-Divisional Officer Er Tsiamchi Ndang through a release appealed concerned consumers to cooperate with the Department and clear their arrears at the earliest.

2 Dma II Minority Congress holds meeting

Dimapur, March 1 (MExN): 2 Dimapur II Constituency Minority Congress Committee held a meeting at Congress Bhavan Dimapur on February 28. Akavi N Zhimo NPCC Secretary Organizer, in his speech said that Congress party is the right political party and talked of the importance of BLA both level agents. Dimapur 2 AYC President J Awomi encouraged the minority party to work together and uplift party spirit. Akheli, VP NPMCC also encouraged both the party, state and district level and acknowledged the party's high progress in Nagaland.
