NSF reiterates demand

Kohima, June 30 (MExN): With the results being declared for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) & Nagaland state entrance examination (NSEE), the Naga Student Federation (NSF) today reiterated its stand and demanded that the allocation of seats for MBBS, BDS, BASLP & Ayush courses through NEET and Para-medical, Agri & Allied courses through the NSEE mains examination be awarded only to “indigenous inhabitants (Nagas by blood)” against the seats which are allotted to the state of Nagaland. NSF in a press release further stated that, “the federation shall closely monitor that the seats allotted to the state will not be given to any non-indigenous inhabitant applicants.” All the selected students after acceptances of their course to undertake will have to “compulsorily verify” their documents in person at the office of Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), Naga Club building Kohima,” the NSF informed.

One unidentified dead body found

Dimapur, June 30 (MExN): An unidentified dead body of a non-local male (approx 40 yrs) was found at the Railway Station area; Dimapur Railway Bazaar, informed a press release issued by the Addl. Dy. Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur. “After observing all legal formalities, the dead body has been shifted to the District Hospital Morgue for further identification,” the press release added.

Temjen Imna Along mourns

Kohima, June 30 (MExN): Nagaland state BJP president and minister for higher & technical education, Temjen Imna Along today mourned the untimely demise of Thsanyimong of Lirise village who passed away at Mokokchung hospital at an early hour this morning. “Late Thsanyimong, was a sincere and dedicated party worker who served the party with loyalty as local president till the time of his departure,” Along stated in a condolence message, and further conveyed his heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed that God Almighty grant eternal peace to the departed soul.

NPGN/NNC (N/A) appoints one

Dimapur, June 30 (MExN): The National People’s Government of Nagaland, Naga National Council (NPGN/NNC (N/A) in a press release issued through its MIP has informed that at the Council’s meeting held on June 28 ,the house appointed M Toshi Ao as the President, unanimously in the interest of the Nation. The Union further wished him success in his endeavors, to lead the Nation peacefully in good health.

3rd Nagaland State Angling Competition on July 13

Dimapur, June 30 (MExN): The 3rd edition of Nagaland State Angling Competition will be held on July 13 at Lavi Lake, Dimapur. It will be organized by Anders' Association Nagaland (AAN) in Collaboration with Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Government of Nagaland. The organising committee has informed that a total number of 40 prizes which includes cash prize alongwith angling gears and other gift hampers are to be won. Champion will receive a cash prize of Rs 50000 with trophy and certificate and first runner up will receive a cash award of Rs 30000 with certificate. The third, fourth and fifth spot winners will win a cash prize of Rs. 20000, Rs. 15000 and Rs. 10000 respectively. Winners of position from 6th to 40th will receive angling gears and other gift hampers. The competition is open to all interested anglers.
