Treasury Officer Peren informs

Peren, July 1 (MExN): Treasury Officer Peren has directed all pensioners/Family Pensioners of pre- July 1, 2017 and drawing pension from Treasury Office Peren, to come to the office for filling up of Pension revision from July 2-5. This was informed in a press release issued by Limatemsu, Treasury Officer, Peren.

Dimapur Police makes arrest

Dimapur, July 1 (MExN): Dimapur Police on July 1 apprehended two people namely- Sukhato Assumi (31 yrs), Sectional Officer of Yung Aung-led NSCN-K and Avika Kughalu Chophy (32 yrs), who were “loitering in a suspicious manner at Dhobinalla.” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur in a press release informed that three numbers of demand slip of NSCN-K and cash Rs. 2650 were seized from the possession. In this connection a case has been registered at SBN PS and investigation is going on. The press release also added that in another occasion, on June 30, the Dimapur police apprehended one person namely Puloto (37), Leacy NSCN IM, P/S V K town on charges of robbing mobile phones and cash from public at Padampukhri area. “In this regard, a case has been registered at East PS for further investigation,” the release stated.

DC Zunheboto informs vehicle owners

Zunheboto, July 1 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto Shanavas C, in a circular has informed all the concerned that the payment of hiring and halting charges of vehicles used during the Lok Sabha election (I-Nagaland) 2019, Zunheboto District will be made till July 15 at DC Office complex. Hence, all vehicle owners have been hereby informed to collect the same after production of duty slip from the designated counter. No payment shall be made after the expiry of last date.

NSF mourns demise of former editor

Kohima, July 1 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) is deeply saddened at the untimely demise of its former Editor, Zhoku Thüluo of Porba Village, Phek District. Thüluo was the ANCSU President during the tenure 2015-17 and the NSF Editor, 2017-19. “The sudden demise of Zhoku Thüluo has created a vacuum in the hearts of the students’ community which will be difficult to replace,” the Federation stated in a condolence message. The NSF has extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prays that the departed soul will rest in eternal peace.

Leo Club installs new board

Dimapur, July 1 (MExN): Leo Club of Dimapur has installed their new board for the Leostic session 2019-20 on June 29, in Lions Park where Leo Vishal Pareek, Leo Ankit Paharia and Leo Bhawna Gangwal were chaired as President, Secretary and Treasurer respectively. The installation was done by Past International director Lion RK More, a press release stated. It also informed that Leo Sneha Jain was appointed as the new PRO of the club.

ECC organizes self defence prog

Dimapur, July 1 (MExN): The Principal of Eastern Christian College (ECC) Padampukhuri Dimapur, in a press release issued, has informed that the department of Sociology ECC, organized a Self defence education programme in collaboration with InSync Taekwondo Academy, Dimapur on June 29, at the college auditorium, “with an aim to instill self defence awareness and the art of flexibility amongst the youth, especially the girls.”

Tuensang observes day against drug abuse

Tuensang, July 1 (MExN): Tuensang district observed the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, with the theme ‘Together We Will Win against Drugs’ at town hall, Tuensang Town. A press release informed that Tuensang Police and Kripa Foundation conducted a rally, with DC Tuensang as the special guest along with CTS, Police, Assam Rifles, Mothers Welfare Society, Bikers Club, IDS, DAPCU, SPC TFAD and school students. Later, a seminar was held, where short speeches were delivered by DC Tuensang, SDPO, CTS, Mothers Welfare Society with skit/play by women PS and Bethel Children's Home and special number by Loyem Memorial College.
