DAYO appeals PDA govt

Dimapur, July 18 (MExN): Responding to the reports published in local dailies, the Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (DAYO) has expressed shocked to learn that Tongpang Ozukum, Minister for Road & Bridge, is to be a part of the reshuffle in the PDA Ministry. DAYO in a press release issued by its president Aotemsu Aier and General Secretary S. Pangertoshi reminded the government, that when PDA was at its most crucial moment to form the Government, it was Tongpang Ozukum’s pledge of support and sacrifice that tilted the weight scale to form this ruling Government, in this century meant for the youth was befitting to give a responsible department to a dynamic young leader. DAYO also mentioned that Tongpang Ozukum in a short span of time has proved his mettle and efficiency in executing crucial road projects especially in Kohima and Dimapur.”It is the desire and wishes of the DAYO along with the Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjen (MTLT) and the younger Naga generation to see that Tongpang Ozukum complete his tenure as the Road and Bridge Minister,” it added.

Girls’ band music competition at Chozuba

Kohima, July 18 (MExN): The girls’ band music competition for Chozuba Sub Division as part of Phek District Girls’ Band Music Competition will be held on July 20 at Vamuzo Memorial Town Hall, Chozuba town. Organized by ADC office Chozuba in collaboration with District Level Centre for Women- Mahila Shakti Kendra, the competition will start from 11:00 AM onwards. This competition is part of “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” campaign on the theme “Your Voice, Your Strength.”

GPRN/NSCN discharges two

Dimapur, July 18 (MExN): The office of the Chief Secretary, GPRN/NSCN on the recommendation of the concerned ministries have released ‘Discharge Order’ of R Kehoto Yim, Under Secretary and Holoto Y Awomi, Under Secretary, from active national service on the July 15, on ground of unavoidable family and domestic problem. “The service rendered by the said officials is much appreciated and acknowledge for which the GPRN/NSCN conveys best wishes on their future endeavor,” stated a press release issued by the MIP, GPRN/NSCN.

Rejoinder to Aghunato GBs

Dimapur, July 18 (MExN): In connection with the news item ‘Aghunato GBs to pursue unity among Naga community’ published in local dailies on July 18 issue, the GBs Association Aghunato Area has refuted the claim. “The press release by the GB’s union of Aghunato area, wherein they resolved to support the Naga Hobo in their pursuance of one goal one nation in a meeting is baseless and untrue,” stated a press release issued by GBs Association Aghunato Area President Kuhozhe N. Achumi. “There was no such meeting held for that purpose. It was done by some vested interest persons without consultations with the president and other members of this organization,” it added saying, “such meeting was never held by the union in any manner.”

SJC Jakhama graduation day

Jakhama, July 18 (MExN): The St. Joseph College (Autonomous) Jakhama will hold its graduation day of 2016-2019 batch on July 20 at 10:00 AM at the indoor stadium, SJC Jakhama. Nagaland's school education advisor Tokugha Sukhalu will grace the occasion as the guest of honour.

NNC CEC meeting

Chedema, July 18 (MExN): The President of the Naga National Council (NNC) Adinno Phizo has convened a meeting of the Central Executive Council (CEC), NNC on July 23 at 10:00 am, the Office of Peace Camp, Chedema. “The meeting will discuss on the urgent needs of the Nation,” informed a press release issued. It requested all the Regional Council Presidents, NNC to attend the meeting without fail.

NPYC state executive meeting

Dimapur, July 18 (MExN): There will be an extended state executive meeting along with DYC Kohima and Dimapur with Indian Youth Congress (IYC) Secretary in charge of Nagaland, Sarifa Rahman on July 26 at 11:00 am, District Youth Congress (DYC) office Dimapur, informed a press release issued by the Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC). It requested all PYC executive to attend the said meeting positively.
