Dimapur Traffic Police informs
Dimapur, July 20 (MExN): The Dimapur Traffic Police has informed the general public that it will enforce strict checking of “underage driving” and “use of mobile phones while driving”. It informed in a press release issued by the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police/PRO Dimapur that all the vehicle owners bearing registration of other states to register their vehicles under the State of Nagaland within the stipulated time, to avoid any penalty. “Defaulters if found will be dealt strictly under Motor Vehicle Act of 1988,”it stated.
Brown sugar seized, one arrested
Wokha, July 20 (MExN): The Wokha Police based on specific information, recovered twenty eight packets of brown sugar and arrested one, Liyanbeni Ngullie, age (42) on July 19, informed a press release issued by the Superintendent of Police, Wokha. It stated that a “case has been registered Vide Women PS C/No. 005/19 U/S 22 (B) NDPS Act.”
PAC NCD convenes emergency meet
Dimapur, July 20 (MExN): The Public Action Committee(PAC), Naga Council Dimapur(NCD) has convened an emergency meeting on July 22 at 11:00 am, Naga Council office, “to discuss on the illegal rampant collection by NPG’s, which is greatly affecting the general Public,” informed a press release issued by the PAC,NCD. It requested all the tribal Hohos Dimapur, DCCI, BAN, DUCCF, NWHD, GB’s union, DNSU to attend the meeting without fail.
DC Mon informs
Mon, July 20 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner & Chairman DRSC, Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS in an public notice stated that in the larger interest of public service and safety and in compliance to the directive of the Supreme Court that violation of laws relating to “helmets/seat belts,” “use of mobile phones” and “dangerous driving” will lead to suspension of driving licenses for a period of 3 (three) months. “This directive will be strictly enforced and implemented,” it informed.
NEAN District Units extend support
Dimapur, July 20 (MExN): The NEAN District units have extended full support while stressing “NHM being a mission that aims in delivering health services at the doorstep for the people and the health personnel are dedicated employees and they rightfully deserve their salary to be paid on time every month.” A joint press release issued by the eleven NEAN District Units have appealed to the authority to resolve the matter as early as possible and the funds meant for smooth functioning of the mission activities should not be held back. The Units include Dimapur, Kohima Mokokchung, Tuensang, Mon, Wokha, Phek, Kiphire, Longleng, Peren and Zunheboto.
ANFATA to seek allocation of more seats for training
Kohima, July 20 (MExN): All Nagaland Fine Art Teachers Association (ANFATA) during its meeting held on July 16, at LCS building Kohima discussed and resolved to seek allocation of more seats for training in Imphal and to apprise the department for Training Institute of fine arts in Nagaland. A press release issued by the President of ANFATA stated that a new team of office bearers were also elected by the members present during the meeting with Lidemo Ngullie and Luiwichu Trakha as the President and General secretary respectively, along with 2 (two) representatives from each district.
NSCN (IM) condoles
Hebron, July 20 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has condoled the demise of Late BohotoTuccu (Sumi Region) Deputy Secretary in the Cabinet Office on July 20, at his residence. A press release issued by its MIP stated that Late Bohoto Tuccu joined the Naga national service in 2005. “For his selfless service rendered for the Naga nation, his name shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and his sacrifices ever be cherished” it added.The NSCN (IM) also prayed to God to bestow comfort and strength to the bereaved family members, to withstand this sorrow.
Speaker NLA convenes meeting
Kohima, July 20 (MExN): Vikho-O-Yhoshu, Speaker Nagaland Legislative Assembly and the Chairman of Business Advisory Committee, has convened a meeting on July 25 at 11:00 am in the Assembly Committee room, “to finalize the provisional programme for the ensuring fourth session of the thirteenth assembly to commence on August 6,” informed a press release issued. It requested all the BAC members to attend the meeting without fail.
