DC Mkg prohibits carrying of arms
Mokokchung, February 3 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer of Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal has issued an order prohibiting carrying of arms within the jurisdiction of Mokokchung district. The prohibitory order was put into force with immediate effect and will remain in force till the completion of the electioneering process. The order was issued in accordance with the guidelines issued by Election Commission of India to take preventive action to ensure peaceful conduct of election in the district. The Deputy Commissioner said the word "arms" as per Section 153AA of IPC 1860 means articles of any description designed or adapted as weapons which includes fire arms, sharp edges weapons (daos), lathis, dandas and sticks.

NCP state unit office opens in Kohima
Kohima, February 3 (MExN): The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Nagaland unit opened its party head office at Jail Colony, Kohima on Thursday. It was inaugurated by Vangthungo Odyuo, NCP State president in the presence of all the state executive members. Addressing the gathering, Vangthungo informed that the party main office earlier established at Half Nagarjan, Dimapur is already abandoned and is shifted to Kohima with immediate effect.
