Power supply to Mon district cut off

DIMAPUR, MARCH 7 (MExN): Electricity consumers under Mon district have been informed that power supply to the district has been cut off due to fault in 66KV Transmission Line between Tuli - Naginimora - Tizit as a result of heavy storm. In this connection, SDO (Trans), Mokokchung Transmission Division, Er Shilu Lkr informed in a press release that the Department is making all efforts to restore power supply at the earliest. It has requested all affected consumers to kindly bear with the inconvenience.  

KSU requests regular power during exam

Mon, March 7 (MExN): Konyak Students’ Union (KSU), Mon has requested the power department to ensure regular power supply during the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examination, which is scheduled from March 9 to 21. A press release from KSU president, Bumang Phaiba and general secretary, Phoe Konyak further extended best wishes to all the students who will appear the upcoming exam under Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE).  

SRCW to celebrate International Women’s Day

Kohima, March 7 (MExN): The State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW) in collaboration with Department of Social Welfare, Nagaland State Social Welfare Board, Women Studies Centre, Nagaland University, and Nagaland University Students’ Union, Kohima will observe International Women’s Day 2018 on March 8 at Library Hall, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema at 12:00 noon. The event will also witness live video streaming of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao- Pan India Expansion by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a public event in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan at 12:50-2:30 pm.  

2nd round of polio vaccination in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, March 7 (MExN): DPO RCH & OIP, Mokokchung, Dr. Temsuyanger has informed that the second round of Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) for children will be held on March 11. All parents and adults have been asked to ensure that all children between 0-5 years receive polio drops at the nearest IPPI booth.  

DoSE notifies institutes to support polio vaccination campaign

Kohima, March 7 (DIPR): Following the directive from the Ministry of Human Resources Development to support nationwide Polio Vaccination Campaign on March 11, 2018, the Directorate of School Education has directed all heads of the institutions (both government and private) in Nagaland to make special efforts for wide publicity in schools through school children to spread the news of mobilizing families and children to enable them immunize all children under 5 years of age with polio vaccines on that day.  

Kohima DPDB to award HSLC topper among govt schools

Kohima, March 7 (MExN): The Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) will award the student who secures the highest aggregate marks in HSLC Examination 2018 among the government schools under Kohima district. This was informed by the District Planning Officer, Heinswading through a press release.  

PETs of State Cadre informed

Kohima, March 7 (MExN): All the serving PETs of State Cadre under the age of 40, who would like to undergo 15 days Master Training Course for Community Coaching Programme, Khelo India, in Gwalior and Guwahati have been asked to contact the Physical Education Section in the Directorate of School Education for detailed information within the month of April 2018.  

Sekrenyi Feast by T. Khel Kuotsu Union

Kohima, March 7 (MExN): T. Khel Kuotsu Union, Kohima Village is organizing a Sekrenyi Feast on March 10, 12:00 noon at the residence of Satuo Kuotsu (Kuozhü). Therefore, the union in a press release has invited all its clan members near and far to attend the programme positively. The union also specially invited all its “sisters and relatives” who are now married to other communities to be a part of the feast.  

SAYO bans hunting, medicinal plant collection, jungle burning

Kohima, March 7 (MExN): Southern Angami Youth Organization (SAYO) has informed the general public that the organization has totally banned hunting, collection of medicinal plant, and jungle burning within its jurisdiction. “Any person or groups violating, found hunting or carrying guns in the jungle/on the way within its jurisdiction will be penalized with SAYO codes and conducts; moreover the defaulters’ belongings…will be apprehended by the organization,” stated a press release from SAYO president, Neisizo Kuotsu and general secretary, Viraseto Neikha. Therefore, SAYO has appealed to every responsible citizen/individual to remain cautious and cooperate with the organization.
