Governor extends Easter greetings
Kohima, March 31 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has extended Easter greetings to the people of Nagaland. In a message, the Governor called on the people of the State to remember the true meaning of Easter and the sacrifice that has been made out of love. “The significance of Christ’s resurrection was that truth triumphs over evil and love is always stronger than hatred,” he stated. Acharya encouraged all to work for peace, harmony and brotherhood and also hoped that the celebration of Easter fosters the spirit of love and forgiveness in all.
KWU condemns
Khonoma, March 31 (MExN): The Khonoma Women Union (KWU) has condemned the murder of a woman of Khonoma village by unidentified person(s). The dead body was recovered on March 28 from a water tank near the British Bungalow at the outskirts of the village, the union informed in a press release. “Such heinous murder of a hapless woman is unimaginable and has no place in Naga society. It should be condemned by all right thinking citizens,” stated the release from KWU president, Lorheno Mor and secretary, Prükieü Pier. The union further appealed to the authority concerned to find the murderer(s) and punish the guilty according to the law of the land.
Phom Monyu greetings
Dimapur, March 31 (MExN): Dimapur Phom Union has extended warm Phom Monyu greetings to all the Phoms in general and particularly those residing in Dimapur. Phom Monyu is celebrated from April 1 to 6 every year. The union general secretary H Philip Buchem in a press release has requested all the HoDs and educational institutions to grant restricted holiday to the Phoms as declared by the State government.
CVC informs on road widening, drainage digging
Dimapur, March 31 (MExN): The Chümoukedima Village Council (CVC) has informed all the plot holders attached to the road from Chümoukedima village junction to Khuova River Road junction via Etta Batta that widening of road cum digging of drainage will be carried out on April 6 based on the village council resolution of 1978. A press release from CVC secretary Mhasiletuo Visezo asked the plot holders under the said area/road to give their fullest cooperation during the work.
Madhucon Projects bags tender for Nagaland road projects
New Delhi, March 31 (PTI): Construction firm Madhucon Projects Ltd has bagged road projects worth Rs734.9 crore from National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corp. Ltd (NHIDCL) in Nagaland. Madhucon Projects Ltd has received Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from NHIDCL for four road projects totalling Rs734.9 crore, the company said in a BSE filing. Hyderabad-based Madhucon Group has interests across sectors like construction, granites, coal, power and sugars.
