DBS wishes happy Bangla New Year

Dimapur, April 14 (MExN): Dimapur Bangali Samaj (DBS) has wished happy Bangla New Year to all the citizens of Dimapur. “May this new year bring in peace, prosperity and happiness in the life of one and all. May we discard all that is negative in our hearts and behaviours and may we all become harbingers of goodness and greatness,” wished DBS president, Kamla Kanta Paul in a press note. It further hoped that “the society harvest the fruits of our efforts to bring happiness in the lives of the deprived, the underprivileged and the needy.” May we utilise all the resources at our disposal to create a society on the best principles of existence, the DBS president added.  

KODH 45th foundation on April 16

Kohima, April 14 (MExN): The Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home (KODH) is observing its 45th Foundation Day on April 16, 1:00 pm at the KODH, five km from State capital. The home is now taken care of by Neibanuo Angami, daughter of late Zaputuo-ü Angami, the founder and president of KODH. ‘Ama’ Zaputuo-ü passed away on March 24, 2011 at the age of 89. With her commitment, she had started the Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home in 1973 and ran it for 38 years till her demise. Appealing to all well-wishers and others to attend the Foundation Day, KODH has extended gratitude to all the well-wishers for helping the home in both kind and cash.  

Kohima Science College Jotsoma bids adieu to students

Kohima, April 14 (MExN): The students and faculty of Kohima Science College Jotsoma bid adieu to the outgoing students on April 10. The program started with the college anthem recital by Veprezo Tsuzuh followed by a welcome speech by Dr. Lily Sema, principal. Zarenthung Yanthan performed a melodious composition after which the outgoing students poured out their nostalgic farewell speeches, stated a press release. KL Kiusumong Tikhir, Additional District Commissioner, Kohima, who was the guest speaker, wished the students all the best for their future endeavors. He encouraged them to incorporate core values and integrity to become honest leaders and individuals. Kiusumong further advised the students to become successful persons and contribute to the society. “Always set high standards in life. Do not let circumstances control you,” he concluded.
