Governor congratulates filmmaker Sesino for winning award

Kohima, April 17 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya has congratulated Sesino Yhoshu, director of the film ‘The Pangti Story’ on being awarded the Best Environment Film including Agriculture in the 65th National Film Awards 2018. The Governor in a message addressed to Sesino stated that the prestigious National Award appropriately recognises the effort to motivate and educate the people about conservation. He hoped that the award will encourage her and her team to motivate and educate the people of Nagaland about conservation of nature, animals, birds and the environment. Acharya also wished Sesino and her team the best in their future endeavours.  

2nd phase of teachers’ training in taekwondo underway

Kohima, April 17 (MExN): The 2nd phase of RMSA self defense martial arts training (2017-18) session in taekwondo, conducted by Nagaland Taekwondo Association (NTA), started on April 16 evening at IG Stadium, Kohima. Addressing the inaugural program, RMSA Joint Mission Director Dr. Kevi Rio expressed happiness over the large turnout of women teachers for the training in 1st and 2nd phase. He urged the trainees to learn with seriousness the game of taekwondo and go back to their schools and teach the students, stated a press release from NTA Media Cell. Meanwhile, NTA president Pele Khezhie encouraged the teachers to be attentive in the various sessions during the training. Altogether, 43 teachers from Phek, Mon, Longleng, Kiphire, Tuensang, Zunheboto, Peren, and Wokha are attending training.  

Perpetual profession of Sisters in Viswema

Kohima, April 17 (MExN): The Catholic community of Viswema and the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany at St. Joseph Convent, Viswema have jointly invited all the well wishers to the Perpetual profession of Sisters Methasünü Agatha BS, M. Charou Elizabeth BS, M. Marina Therou BS, M. Roselima Thamei BS, M. Roseline Dukru BS, M. Line Raymond BS, and M. Silvia Daphrou BS on April 21, 10:00 am at St. Joseph Church, Viswema. The Bishop of Kohima, Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil DD will be the main celebrant and Archbishop of Imphal, Most Rev. Dr. Dominic Lumon DD the con-celebrant. A press release from Organizing Committee on Final Profession, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Viswema informed that bus has been arranged for the event from Kohima. It will leave BOC at 8:30 am.  

Forest Colony Union, Kohima new officials

Kohima, April 17 (MExN): The annual meeting cum selection of new office bearers of Forest Colony Union, Kohima was held at the Forest Colony Community Hall. New office bearers were selected for the tenure 2018 to 2023. Peter K Rengma will be the new chairman, Imtimar Walling – general secretary, Kepingtad Newmai – treasurer, Chorayi Veyie – finance secretary, K Shiketo Aye – youth convenor, and Cenam Wansha – women convenor.
