AR apprehend NSCN (IM) cadre
Dimapur, April 21 (MExN): Dimapur battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) reportedly apprehended an NSCN (IM) cadre with “incriminating documents” from a check post in Khekiho village of Dimapur on April 20. He has been identified as P Renthungo Odyuo (42), Under Secretary, NSCN (IM). A press release from PRO, HQ IGAR (N) stated that the recoveries from the individual included two blank cash receipts, booklet of house tax, one blank cash receipt booklet of shop tax, one blank cash book, five note pads, “incriminating documents” pertaining to NSCN (IM) Lotha region and two mobile phones. The apprehended person along with the recovered items was handed over to Dimapur Police Station for further investigation, it added.
Dr. Aomangyang Walling is new HoD of AH&VS

NMHP informs to remove water pipes in drainages
Kohima, April 21 (MExN): All residents of New Ministers Hill Colony, Kohima and adjoining colonies whose private water pipes run through hume pipes in drainages and in open drainages within New Ministers Hill Colony have been asked to remove the pipes within seven days from the day of this notification. “If any pipes are found not removed, the New Ministers Hill Panchayat (NMHP) will take its own course of action,” stated a press release from NMHP chairman, Neibo-o Kire and secretary, Lima Imsong.
One held for extortion
Dimapur, April 21 (MExN): The Special Operation Team (SOT) Dimapur arrested one person for extortion on April 21 around 2:00 pm. Akato Sumi (25) was arrested for extorting money from the business community at Golaghat Road near Tragopan junction in Dimapur, according to a press release from Dimapur Police. Cash amounting to Rs.4630/- was recovered/seized from the possession of the accused and a case has been registered at East Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation, it added.
Phek dist NCP president resigns
Kohima, April 21 (MExN): The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Phek district president Khrowete Lasuh has tendered his resignation with immediate effect. Lasuh stated he resigned from the post of president and further declared that he will not associate with any political party henceforth.
ZKPO cautions against plying of heavy vehicles
Peren, April 21 (MExN): The Zeliang Kuki Public Organisation (ZKPO) has appealed to the log contractors in particular and the general public not to ply heavy vehicles after April 31 within the jurisdiction of ZKPO, i,e, Kuki area and Zeliang area till New Nkio-Khelma villages and also covering Beisumpuikam. A press release from ZKPO president, Lamsei and vice president, Rangnim Pame warned that “after the expiry of the above mentioned date the ZKPO will take its own course of action.”
Assam Rifles organize ‘motivational lecture’
Kohima, April 21 (MExN): Kohima battalion of Assam Rifles organized a ‘motivational lecture’ delivered by the students and staff who formed part of national integration tour to golden triangle of Delhi, Jaipur, Agra at St Mary’s Cathedral School, Kohima on April 14. The teachers Veliebeizo Dominic Solo and Novito theyo and students from St Mary’s Cathedral School who went for the tour shared their joy and experiences with fellow teachers and students, informed a press release from Assam Rifles. Vitsumong P Tikhir from Pokphur village of Kiphire also shared the joyful experience of his first train journey and visit to the Red Fort, Hawa Mahal and the Taj Mahal as part of the national integration tour, it added. Conducted from March 4 to 15, 20 students and two teachers from various districts of Nagaland took part in the tour.
