AR troops apprehend NSCN (K) cadres

Dimapur, April 28 (MExN): Dimapur battalion of Assam Rifles apprehended alleged NSCN (K) cadres in Green Park area, Dimapur on April 27. A press release from Assam Rifles has identified them as Eska Chishi alias Yeshika alias Alex (39), Kito Chishi (30), and Kheio Sema alias Toki (22). Recoveries from the operation included one .22 mm rifle with magazine, one .32 mm pistol with magazine, nine live rounds, cash Rs.101922/-, nine mobile phones, one yearly tax rate slip, three pages arms & ammunition details, three pages detail of Sumi Task Force with nominal roll, 12 pages document containing details of general enrolment and seven SP capsules, the release stated. The apprehended individuals alongwith recovered items were handed over to Diphupar and East Police Station for further investigation, it added.  

Consumer disputes redressal commission informs

Kohima, April 28 (MExN): Nagaland State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has requested all parties to re-construct their records of pending cases and submit the same in the makeshift office of the Commission situated at Nagaland State Consumer Helpline Office, Khonoma Rupfuno Building, D-Block Colony, Kohima within four weeks from the date of this notice. A notice from the Commission informed that its office was burned down in the mob violence in Kohima on February 2, 2017 and in that incident all the records were also damaged and charred to ashes. The date and place of next sitting will be notified later, it added.  

Farmers’ Welfare Day

Kohima, April 28 (MExN): The Chief Veterinary Officer of Kohima has informed the general public that a Farmers’ Welfare Day under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan will take place on May 2 at Veterinary Hospital, Kohima. A free vaccination and health care treatment will be made available to all livestock, poultry and pet animals from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.  

National workshop on archaeology

Kohima, April 28 (MExN): The Department of History & Archaeology, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema is organizing eight-day national workshop on ‘Archaeology: Methods and Approaches’ for college teachers from April 30 to May 7. Sponsored by Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) and Nagaland University, the workshop will be inaugurated at 12:00 noon on April 30. Prof. RC Gupta, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema will be the guest of honour at the inaugural event. Keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Watijungshi Jamir, principal, Kohima College.  

NSSATA Tuensang cautions SDEOs

Tuensang, April 28 (MExN): Nagaland Sarva Siksha Abhiyan Teachers’ Association (NSSATA), Tuensang unit has cautioned Sub Divisional Education Officers (SDEOs) of Tuensang, Shamator, Noklak and DEO Tuensang not to countersign the pay bill without 7th RoP. “The SSA teachers have been deprived of every right though we are selected as Regular State Employees by the State Government,” the unit lamented in a press statement. The unit also supported the ultimatum served by the Central NSSATA team on April 23 and also reminded all the members to cooperate for agitations unless further information is given. TCCI urges release of oil transporters

Tuensang, April 28 (MExN): The Tuensang Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) has appealed for the release of oil transporters – driver Tula Ram Bura Gohain and his assistant Adman Surin – who were abducted by unknown persons in New Helipong village, Tuensang on April 22. A press statement from Dorothy Chang, president, TCCI urged to release the victims on humanitarian ground so as not to disturb the peaceful environment in Tuensang in particular and the Naga areas as a whole.
