ANATG Dimapur unit reminds members to attend agitation

Dimapur, June 16 (MExN): The Dimapur unit of All Nagaland Ad-hoc Teachers Group (ANATG) 2015 Batch has reminded all its members to strictly follow the instructions and resolution passed by the Agitation Core Committee and central body and report to the Directorate of School Education, Kohima at 8:00 am sharp on June 18. “Stringent action will be imposed on those members who fail to attend the proposed agitation programme,” cautioned a press release from the unit president, Surhota Yhobu and general secretary, Kughalu Swu. The unit also requested all right thinking citizens to extend support and cooperation in their fight for justice.  

ANGPTA Tseminyu unit urges to regularize ad-hoc teachers

Tseminyu, June 16 (MExN): All Nagaland Government Primary Teachers’ Association (ANGPTA) Tseminyu unit has appealed to the State government and the department concerned to regularize the service of all 1166 ad-hoc teachers without further delay. In a press release, the unit president, Sanenlo Wanth stated that the All Nagaland Ad-hoc Teacher's Group (ANATG) members have fulfilled all the criteria laid down by the department like teachers’ training, suitability test and spot verification of the documents. The ANGPTA Tseminyu unit therefore impressed upon the government to regularize those teachers for the smooth functioning and no further disturbances of the school environment. It also extended support to the Nagaland SSA Teachers’ Association (NSSATA) and urged the government to come up with permanent solution at the earliest.  

AR apprehend one with arms

Dimapur, June 16 (MExN): Dimapur Battalion of Assam Rifles apprehended one person with “illegal arms and ammunition” from a mobile vehicle check post in Burma Camp here on June 14. The apprehended person has been identified as Kateusing Zeliang (56). The recoveries made from the individual included one .22 mm rifle with magazine and 50 live rounds of .22 mm, stated a press release from PRO, IGAR (North). The apprehended along with the recovered items was handed over to East Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation, it added.  

Food-grains/sugar distribution

Kohima, June 16 (MExN): Inspector of Food & Civil Supplies, Kohima, Sashilemla Pongen has informed all the Fair Price Shops (FPS)/village councils of Kohima Centre that the PHH and AAY food-grains/sugar will be released from June 19 onwards between 10:30 am and 4:00 pm. Therefore, the concerned FPS/village councils have been directed to collect their respective quota as per the following schedule: Kezocha Circle Villages and Merema, Tsiese Basa & Bawe, Thizama & Rusoma – June 19; Jakha Circle villages – June 20; Kohima Sadar and Secu circle villages – June 21; Kohima Town FPS – June 22 and 25.  

ZPO (N) lauds police action

Peren, June 16 (MExN): The Zeliang People’s Organisation (Nagaland) has lauded the timely action of Dimapur Police personnel in apprehending the two accused of the triple murder of youths in Dimapur on June 4. A press statement from ZPO (N) secretary, Kerang Dumtta further urged upon the law enforcing agency and the State judiciary to carry out impartial judgement and award befitting punishment to set an example. The organisation also warned of “severe actions against any individuals or groups” trying to bail out the accused.  

NSUI Nagaland meets national secy

Kohima, June 16 (MExN): The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Nagaland unit held a consultative meeting with Monoj Hazarika, National Secretary NSUI, in charge of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh NSUI on June 14 at the unit’s office in Congress Bhavan, Kohima. A press release from the unit vice president, Niloboto Sumi and senior vice president, Moasenla Jamir informed that the meeting was attended by Moa Emchen, general secretary NPCC, NSUI Nagaland State Committee members and some members who had resigned on February 16, 2018. The resigned members withdrew their resignation in the meeting, the release stated. It further informed that Hazarika emphasized on the urgent need to set up the State Executive Committee at the earliest.
