Ad-hoc teachers’ protest enters 2nd day

Kohima, June 19 (MExN): The sit in protest of All Nagaland Ad-hoc Teacher's Group (ANATG) 2015 Batch entered second day here outside the office of the Directorate of School Education. The ad-hoc teachers numbering 1166 are demanding regularization of their service. An ANATG official said the Group would continue the agitation till justice is delivered to them.  

DPC election postponed

Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): The Dimapur Press Club (DPC) election of new office bearers which was scheduled to be held on June 28 at Press Point, Super Market has been postponed to July 5. This was informed in a press release issued by Dimapur Press Club.  

CM expresses sadness

Kohima, June 19 (MExN): The Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio has expressed sadness over the demise of I Masa Ao, “a well-known servant of God” and father of former MLA Takatiba Masa Ao, in Changtongya on June 18. Late Masa Ao made significant contributions towards spreading the Gospel of Christ in Nagaland through his many missionary works, Rio said in a condolence message. He further informed that I Masa was one of the founding members of the Nagaland Lay Evangelical Fellowship (NLEF) in the 1970s. Later in the 1980s, he served as the first Missionary-At-Large from Changtongya Town Baptist Church. “Over the decades, he voluntarily served as Missionary in numerous capacities. In his passing, Nagas have lost a noble soul who was particularly known for his good works with the youth,” the CM stated. Along with his family, Rio expressed condolences to all members and relatives of the deceased.  

ECC’s Pol Science dept annual lecture

Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): The Department of Political Science, Eastern Christian College (ECC) is organizing its 1st annual lecture on June 22 at the college auditorium at 11:00 am on 'Freedom of Press and its Restrictions [Article-19(2)]’. Dr. Akum Longchari, Publisher of The Morung Express and an expert in ‘Conflict and Peace Studies’ will be the resource person, informed a press release from Impangsangla Jamir, Head of Department of Political Science, ECC. Impangsangla has invited all to attend the programme.  

Online GPF info system operational

Kohima, June 19 (MExN): All the State government officials whose Provident Fund accounts are maintained by the office of the Accountant General (A&E), Nagaland have been informed that the online GPF information system which was down for maintenance work is operational again. The new web address for accessing the system is https://nlagpf.gov.in/gpf and the preferred browser is Internet Explorer, stated a press release from Senior Accounts Officer, GPF Branch, Accountant General office. In case of any problem, the Helpdesk staffs can be contacted for assistance or through email addressed to agaenagaland@cag.gov.in or to the Deputy Accountant General (A&E) at kahoto_j@yahoo.co.in.
