Chakhesang leaders’ prayer meeting
Phek, July 1 (MExN): Third ‘Monthly Divine Revelation Prayer Meeting’ for the Chakhesang leaders is scheduled to be held from July 13-15 at CCCRC Prayer Centre, Chetheba, Phek under the theme ‘If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves…”(II Chronicles 7:14). The speakers will be: Rev. Khrotso Mero, Sr. Pastor, CBCK; Rev. Vevozo Khamo Executive Secretary, CCCRC; and Muleto Nienu, Associate Pastor, CCRC Upper PWD, Kohima. The program will be led by Vekhohu Dawhuo, Field Evangelist, CCCRC and Kahizo Vadeo Pastor, CCRCK. On behalf of the organizers, Rev. Vevozo Khamo, Executive Secretary CCCRC has informed all the Chakhesang leaders – politicians, public & NGO leaders, national workers, bureaucrats, church leaders, and prayers warriors – to positively attend the program and receive the blessings of God.
Children’s summer camp held in Kohima
Kohima, July 1 (MExN): A two-day long children’s summer camp 2018 was held at St. Francis de Sale (SFS) Parish, Kohima Town under the theme, ‘You are the light of the world’ (Matthew 5:14) from June 29 to 30. Various competitions such as drawing and painting, talents shows, group songs, bible quiz, singing practice etc marked the second day. More than 300 campers joined the camp. Functions were held at the Parish premise, CAN building and Charity School for the different categories. Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Richard Fernandes and Assistant Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Peter Pithungo handed over prizes to the winners of various competitions during the closing ceremony at Charity School. Neiphrehunuo Whuorie and Jeremy bagged Best Camper Award for the group Class A to 3, while Kikruneinuo Michell and Keviratuo Jerry bagged the award in the group 4 - 7 and 8 - 12 respectively.
NDPP Kohima region meeting held
Kohima, July 1 (MExN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Kohima Region convened a consultative meeting with all the assembly constituencies under the region on June 29 at its office at Legacy Complex, Bayavü. It was well attended by all the A/Cs represented by the presidents and general secretaries, informed a press release from Kechangulie Kense, general secretary, NDPP Kohima region. All the A/Cs put forth their respective problems as well as suggestions for further strengthening of the party, it said. The meeting also deliberated on a wide range of issues and adopted resolutions. The house unanimously appreciated the Government's decision to ban the use of plastics in the state and resolved to extend support and co-operation towards this end, according to the release.
ASUKCK 43rd Annual Fresher’s Day held
Kohima, July 1 (MExN): The Angami Students’ Union Kohima College Kohima (ASUKCK) held its 43rd Annual Fresher’s Day at Ura Academy Hall, Kohima on June 30. Keneilesa Neikha, HoD, Department of History, Kohima College, Kohima was the special guest. He encouraged the gathering to “go back to our roots and know more of our identity” and also to learn and preserve one’s own mother tongue, informed a press release. He further challenged the students to concentrate on studies and excel in whichever fields they pursue. The Tenyidie Kephrünuoko Krotho, various tribal units from Kohima College and dignitaries also graced the occasion, the release added.
