Eastern Nagaland organizations reaffirms separate state demand
DIMAPUR, JULY 5 (MExN): A number of organizations from Eastern Nagaland have reiterated its August 24, 2012 resolution for demand of a separate state. A joint press statement issued by Chang Khulei Setshang (CKS), Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC), Konyak Union (KU), Phom Peoples’ Council (PPC), United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP), Yimchunger Tribal Council (YTC), Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) and Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) on Thursday said “other than a separate assembly, no other form of arrangement would be acceptable to the people of Eastern Nagaland under the aegis of ENPO.” It also stated that in the process of any eventuality that may appear to be detrimental (externally/internally) in its movement by any individual/organizations, or, the safety of the ENPO leaders, tribal & frontal organization leaders if threatened in any manner over the demand shall not be tolerated, and the public of Eastern Nagaland shall initiate stern action as deemed fit.
Er TS Angami appointed as NPSC Chairman
Kohima, July 5 (MExN): Er TS Angami has newly been appointed as Chairman, Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) and will assume office on the retirement of A Yanang Xonyak. In a press statement, Temjen Toy, Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Nagaland stated, “In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 316 of the Constitution of India, read with Regulation 3 of the Nagaland Public Service Commission (Chairman, Members & Staff) Regulations, 2008 the Governor of Nagaland has appointed Er T.S Angami as Chairman at the Nagaland Public Service Commission vice retirement of A Yanang Xonyak on June 13 2018 (A.N) with effect from the date he assumes charge for a period of 06 (six) years or until he attains the age of 62 years, whichever is earlier. The salary of Er. T.S Angami as Chairman of the Commission will be in accordance with Regulation of the Nagaland Public Service Commission (Chairman, Members & Staff) Regulation 2008 plus all the allowances is admissible from time to time, it added.
DPC elects new office bearers
Dimapur, July 5 (MExN): The General body meeting cum election of Dimapur Press Club (DPC) was held on July 5 2018 at the Press Point, Super Market where office bearers for the new tenure were elected. The elected office bearers are: Dilip Sharma—President; Temjenrenba Anichar—Vice-President; S Henlly Phom—General Secretary; Imkong Walling—Joint Secretary; Temshinaro Jamir—Information & Publicity Secretary; Caisü Mao—Sports Secretary; Among Aier—Finance Secretary; Asungba Ao—Treasurer. A press release from Henlly Phom, General Secretary, DPC also informed that the house also appointed Paudi Renta, Moa Longkumer and Filip Sumi as executive members of DPC.
