KNK Phaipijang condemns murder

Dimapur, July 9 (MExN): Kuki Nute Kiloikhom (KNK) Phaipijang has condemned the murder of a young girl on July 1 at Phaipijang village, Dimapur. “We are too shocked at the merciless killing of the girl and no words can suffice to express our sadness, anger and shock. The incident has left us speechless and the whole neighborhood into fear psychosis,” stated a press release from KNK chairperson, Mawite Haolai and secretary, Chongneineng Hangsing. The organization requested the police to apprehend the culprit(s) at the earliest and give befitting punishment as per the law of the land, thereby giving justice to the victim, the bereaved family and the citizens. KNK further shared condolence with the bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty God give comfort to them and solace to the departed soul.  

NSCN (K) cadre apprehended

Dimapur, July 9 (MExN): Medziphema and Dimapur battalions of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) apprehended an NSCN (K) cadre during a joint operation launched in Half Nagarjan, Dimapur along with police representatives of Diphupar Police Station on July 9. A press release from Maj L Vincent Patton, PRO, HQ IGAR (N) alleged that the accused identified as Hito Chishi (26), Under Secretary was apprehended with incriminating documents, including extortion slip. He along with the recovered items was handed over to East Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation, it was informed.  

Sarbajanin Durga Mandir Committee event

Dimapur, July 9 (MExN): Sarbajanin Durga Mandir Committee (SDMC) is organizing Navadivshiya Srimad Devi Bhagawat Katha Bhakti Gyan and Yagya from July 15 to 24 at Durga Mandir complex, Purana Bazaar, East Dimapur from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. In a press release from the general secretary, Bipul Mech and president, Monidhar Mech, the committee said that it is working to promote “World Peace and Prosperity.” The committee has invited all Hindu community of Dimapur irrespective of caste and creed to take part in the programme.
