BAN condemns grenade attack
Dimapur, March 2 (MExN): Business Association of Nagas (BAN) has strongly condemned the hurling of grenade at a businessman’s house at Marwaripati, Dimapur by some miscreants. BAN, in a press release stated that such acts of crime are detrimental towards building a civilized society. Further, BAN appealed to the authorities concerned to take “severest action on these anti social elements by incarcerating all those involved in the heinous crime.”
DDCF in favor of auto drivers’ uniform
Dimapur, March 2 (MExN): The Dimapur District Citizens Forum (DDCF) has lauded Regional Transport Authority (RTO) Dimapur for its decision to enforce grey uniform for all auto drivers with name tag on it. Khehuto Zakie, vice president of DDCF in a press release has opined that wearing uniform by auto drivers would give the citizens of Dimapur a sense of confidence especially during night hours and also give a feeling of security for the auto drivers as “in the recent past, few auto drivers were harassed by antisocial elements.” The DDCF appealed to the Dimapur District Auto Drivers Union to comply with the order of RTA for the larger interest of the people of Dimapur and make “Dimapur look like a disciplined city.”
EDBA condemns
Dimapur, March 2 (MExN): East Dimapur Business Association (EDBA) has condemned in “strongest possible terms” the throwing of grenade at the residence of a businessman in Marwaripati, while demanding an enquiry forthwith so “the perpetrators of this crime may be brought to justice.” EDBA further lauded the timely decision of Phek Chamber of Commerce in their declaration of one Government, one Tax and urged other districts and towns to follow suit “so as to send a strong message of unity to our brothers and sisters in different factions/groups and heed to the voices of the masses.”
PDSTGA meet
Kohima, March 2 (MExN): The Phek District Small Tea Growers’ Association (PDSTGA) will hold a meeting on March 11, 10:30 AM at PWD Rest House, Phek. Stating this in a release, PDSTGA president Veshehu Khamo and general secretary Zashenieyi Venuh have requested all the registered small tea growers to attend the said meeting positively.
BSF helps douse fire in Satakha
Dimapur, March 2 (MExN): A fire broke out in a house belonging to one Hosuvi Sema in Satakha town, hundred meters away from BN HQ 111 BN BSF Satakha on February 28 at 4:50 pm. A press release received here informed that on seeing the smoke and cries for help, troops of 111 BN BSF rushed to the spot along with water tanker and other fire fighting equipments and managed to douse off the fire. Ambulance along with medical staff also attended to the people, the note said. Cause of fire was fire woods kept above fireplace. The prompt and swift reaction on the part of the troops in controlling the fire has been greatly appreciated by the citizens of Satakha Town, the release added.
