Kohima, March 6 (DIPR): Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Chotisuh Sazo who is also the chairman of Business Advisory Committee has convened a meeting on March 10, 11:00 am in the Assembly Committee Room to finalize the Provisional Programme for the ensuing fourth session of the twelfth assembly to commence from March 20. All Committee members concerned have been requested to attend the meeting.
DC & DEO Mon Informs
Mon, March 6 (DIPR): In connection with the Lok Shabha election 2014, the District Election Officer, Mon has informed all concerned that training for the Presiding Officers and 1st Polling Officers has been scheduled on March 11 at Government Higher Secondary School, Mon at 10:00 am. List for the 2nd and 3rd Polling Officers would be displayed on the DC notice board. The officer further informed all the polling personnel to submit two passport size photographs during the training. All concerned have been directed to attend the training positively.
DC Kohima on model code of conduct
Kohima, March 6 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner & Assistant Returning Officer, Kohima, W. Honje Konyak has stated that with the announcement of schedule of Election to Lok Sabha, 2014 by the Election Commission of India, March 5, Model Code of Conduct for the guidance of Political Parties has come into force in the District. The DC has informed all the Political Parties Candidates officers, Organization, and General public to observe the provisions of Model Code of Conduct and also to restrain from doing all activities that Violates Model Code of Conduct.
Doctors attend to injured turtle
Dimapur, March 6 (MExN): On March 6, a land terrain adult turtle weighing 20 kg was brought to Animal Nursing Home, half nagarjan, Dimapur with injuries and a hanging iron hook inside the oral cavity. The case was attended by Dr Sungkum and assisted by Dr Suiding Hinglak. The surgical procedure was successful and is under further post-operative care. The turtle belongs to Noune Resort, Dimapur.
Fresh fish sale on March 7
Kohima, March 6 (MExN): The Department of Fisheries has arranged women SHG Olive Group from Viswema Village, Kohima to sell fresh fish at PR Hill Junction, Kohima on March 7 from 7:00 am onwards. Director of Fisheries, Chizu Kapfo in a press release has informed the public to avail this opportunity. It may be mentioned that the Department has been encouraging for sustainable economic returns and livelihood development through fisheries sector.
KNCS clarifies on nomenclature
Dimapur, March 6 (MExN): The Governing Body of the Kyong Naga Cultural Society, after a serious deliberation, has resolved to uphold the name of the society as Kyong Naga Cultural Society and not as Lotha Naga Cultural Society. The Society has clarify that the name of the society has nothing to do with the ongoing confusion of ‘Kyong’ or ‘Lotha’ as it coin the word ‘Kyong’ to give a meaningful touch to its name in tune with the Lotha Naga Cultural essence. KNCS Governing Body Secretary R David Shitio stated in a press release that the KNCS is a culture conscious and positive trend-setting people, raised with an aim to research, preserve and to promote the Lotha Naga culture and tradition.
Kohima Hindi teachers meeting
Kohima, March 6 (MExN): All the government Hindi teachers serving in government and private schools under Kohima district (both under SDEO/DIS Kohima and Chiephobozou) have been informed that a general meeting for the year 2014 will be held on March 22, 10:00 am at Bharat Scout & Guide office, Bayavü here. Therefore, all the concerned Hindi teachers have been requested to attend the meeting without fail. Longleng, March 6 (MExN): The Longleng District Planning & Development Board meeting for the month of March will be held on March 11 at MI Project Shesha near Bridge Point between Yongam and Nyang at 11:00 am. Parliamentary secretary, Land Resources & Chairman DPDB, Longleng, BS Nganlang will be attending the meeting.
