NBCC to launch U-Link for children in Kohima
Dimapur, March 18 (MExN): The launching of U-LINK program, an initiative of the Education and Communication Department of Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) will be held on March 22, 2014 at the NBCC Convention Centre, New Capital Complex, Kohima at 12:00 noon. This program is for children between the ages of 13 and 15 living in Kohima and will be ongoing for the whole year. Three important highlights of the program are “Growth Group,” “Family Forever” and “Teens game.” For those who are interested to be a part of this program can contact “Bible House” shop, near New NST Kohima or one’s own local churches. Notice regarding sale of acid/corrosive substance
MOKOKCHUNG, MARCH 18 (DIPR): As per the directive of the Supreme Court and notice received from the Home Department, Nagaland, the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) for Mokokchung, Rajesh S. (IAS) has informed that selling of acids and corrosive substances is regulated until a new Poison Rule is promulgated. It is also informed that over the counter sale of acid is completely prohibited unless the seller maintains a log/register, recording the sale of acid and detail of the person to whom acid is sold. No acid shall be sold to person who is below 16 years of age. Educational institutional, research laboratories, hospitals etc. who are required to keep and store acid, need to maintain a register for usage of acid and the same shall be filed with the Sub-Divisional Magistrate concerned.
DSSATA informs members
Dimapur, March 18 (MExN): Dimapur SSA Teachers Association (DSSATA) has informed all the SSA teachers appointed under Dimapur district to reach near New Secretariat complex, Kohima before 8:00 am on March 20 without fail, for matters relating to the issues of the association. An amount of Rs 1000 will be imposed upon the absentees, stated a press release issued by DSSATA president and statistical secretary.
Phek SSA teachers association formed
Kohima, March 18 (MExN): The Phek SSA teachers convened an emergency meeting on March 14 at TU Building near NST Kohima and formed their association with Wezhode Sara as president, Zhopove Tunyi as general secretary, Krovielhoupe Koza and Nukhozo Dozo as press secretary and Mudotsulu as treasurer. Later, the union deliberated on the non-payment of salaries and arrear. Strategies of the second phase were also discussed in case the SSA teachers’ demands were not met in specific time. Also stating that boycotting of classes will be continued till further notice, it also asked Phek SSA teachers to extend its full support and cooperation to the central SSA team. Training for 2nd & 3rd polling officers held at kohima
KOHIMA, MARCH 18 (DIPR): The training for 2nd Polling officers and 3rd Polling officers for Kohima was held at the Indoor stadium (TT Stadium) and Badminton Stadium, Kohima on March 18. With a good response from a number of polling officials who attended the training, they were imparted knowledge on the use of EVMs, recording of valuable votes and voting procedures.
