7th SLEC meeting postponed
Kohima, January 22 (DIPR): In view of the model code of conduct having come into force Additional Development Commissioner, Planning and Coordination Department, Aolemla Jamir has in an office memorandum on January 20 informed that the 7th meeting of the State Level Empowered Committee (SLEC) scheduled to be held on January 23 at 11:00 am at the Conference Hall of the Chief Secretary, Nagaland, for (i) finalization of the State's priority list for 2017-18 under NLCPR and (ii) discussion on the report of Solid Waste site at Dzurouzou-Medi, Kohima retained during 2016-17 under NLCPR has been postponed. The rescheduled date for the meeting will be intimated subsequently, added the office memorandum.

AISHE 2017-18 commences
Kohima, January 22 (DIPR): The All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) for the year 2017-18 has commenced from January 5, 2018. In this regard, Universities, Secular Colleges, Polytechnics, Nursing Institutes & DIETs within Nagaland have been requested to upload the data on AISHE portal (aishe.gov.in) at the earliest. The closing date of the survey is on 4th March, 2018.

DoSE informs selected math and science graduate teachers
Kohima, January 22 (DIPR): Directorate of School Education has in a notification on 22nd January, 2018 informed candidates who were declared qualified and selected for the post of Graduate Teacher (Maths& Science) vide the Department Notification NO. ED/ACA/RECRUIT/2017-18, dated 22nd December, 2017 to report to the office of the Director (HSS) on or before 9th February, 2018 and submit the acceptance of offer letter in the prescribed format.

Training for general elections held at Mon
Mon, January 22 (DIPR): As part of preparation for the forthcoming General Elections to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2nd Round of Election Expenditure Monitoring Training programme was conducted on January 19 and 20 at DC’s Conference Hall, Mon. Training for Assistant Expenditure Observer Team was held on January 19 and Training for Flying Squad and Static Surveillance Teams was held on January 20 for all the Nine Constituencies under Mon District. Nodal officer for Election Expenditure Monitoring, Reny Wilfred, IAS, SDO(C), Mon HQ, who presided over both the training programme, explained in detail the role of various teams with the aid of paper presentation. Additional SP, Mon, LanuAier and SDPO Mon, Vrinda Shukla (IPS) also trained the police personnel associated with the teams about Standard Operating Procedures to be followed while discharging the duties.
LOU/DHEP elects new prez
Wokha, January 22 (MExN): Meeting-cum-election of Land Owners’ Union, Doyang Hydro Electric Project (LOU/DHEP) was held on January 16 at NRC Hall Doyang under Wokha district. Out of the 17 land affected villages, 14 villages represented by Council Chairmen/Head GBs along with their respective Executive Members of LOU/DHEP has elected Rhanbemo Odyuo of New Riphyim village as the president of LOU/DHEP for the tenure 2018-2023, stated a press release from Pichamo Yanthan, Election Commissioner, LOU/DHEP. The Election Commission and the members present declared it as unopposed, the release added. It informed that out of the 48 executive members with voting rights, 28 executive members were present of which 26 voted in favour of the same. According to the release, the house also resolved that any individual(s) trying to create any “unwanted situation” or trying to convene a meeting for the formation of LOU/DHEP NEEPCO Ltd. “will be held solely responsible for solving the long pending issues regarding the 17 land affected villages of LOU/DHEP, which is of more than a decade back.” Meanwhile, it appealed to all the land affected villages to co-operate in order to solve the pending issues and to bring all round development for the land affected villages and Lothas in particular and the Nagas in general.
