KBPF appeal churches to offer special prayer for election

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 16 (MExN): The Kohima Pastor Fellowship (KBPF) has appealed all the churches in Kohima Town to offer special prayers for the forth coming Sate Assembly Election which is scheduled on February 27, 2018. In line with the NBCC’s call for clean election, the KBPF seek to invoke God’s divine intervention for conduct of peaceful, free and fair election, a press note from KBPF stated. In this regard, all church members have been requested to intercede for wisdom and to vote consciously to elect honest and God fearing leaders to govern the state. The pastors have also been requested to take the two Sunday (February 18 & 25) ahead of the polling day, to lead their respective congregation for a time of fervent prayer and intercession.  

WSBAK re-affirms NBCC Clean Election guidelines

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 16 (MExN): The Western Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu (WSBAK) on Friday re-affirmed the NBCC guidelines on Clean Election. In a press release, Rev. Dr. Hevukhu Achumi, Executive Secretary, WSBAK informed that the following guidelines have been adopted to be observed in every local church under WSBAK jurisdiction. White flag for Clean Election will be hoisted on every house of those families who have decided to be part of Clean Election Campaign as a sign of support to Clean Election Campaign. Use of illegal elements including liquor and arms shall be prohibited; Volunteers should be jointly formed in every village and sector comprising Students, Village Elders and Church Leaders. Chain of prayer must be conducted in every church for fair and Clean Election, the press release added.  

Commissioner of State Taxes on intra-state movement of goods

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 16 (MExN): The Commissioner of State Taxes, Nagaland has notified June 1, 2016 for intra-state movement of goods (movement of goods which commences and terminates within the State). According to a DIPR report, the provisions of rules 138 of the said rules relating to furnishing of information prior to commencement of intra-state movement of goods within the State of Nagaland and generation of e-way bill for such movement of goods will apply on and from June 1, 2018, for all taxable goods of any value. No e-way bill under rule 138 shall be required to be generated on intra-state movement of goods within the State of Nagaland till the May 31, 2018. E-Way Bill can be generated from the common Goods and Services Tax Electronic Portal www.ewaybillgst.gov.in before commencement of movement of goods.  

Immanuel College organizes seminar on Phonetic Description of English

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 16 (MExN): The Department of English, Immanuel College Dimapur on Friday organised a one day seminar on "Phonetic Description of English" at the College audio visual room for English honours students. The objective of the seminar was to let the students acquire an understanding of speech as the medium of linguistic communication and of phonetics as a discipline that investigates this medium. Resource person for the seminar was Dr. H. Salome Kinny, Asst. Professor, ICFAI University. The seminar commenced with a welcome address and introductory by Temjenkala Yaden, Asst. Professor, Department of English. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Imolangla Pongen, H.O.D, Department of English.  

Imkongsunep, Niloli wins state-level slogan & painting competition

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 16 (MExN): Imkongsunep from Pilgrim Hr Secondary School, Dimapur and Niloli from Agape School, Kiphire were adjudged the winners of the Nagaland state-level Slogan and Painting competition respectively on the theme “Protection of the Ozone Layer" during World Ozone Day on September 16, 2017. The first runners up for the Slogan competition went to Sentimongla Longkumer, also from Pilgrim Hr Secondary School while Vewotso-I Koza from St Joseph Hr Secondary School Dimapur was the second runners up. In the Painting competition, Okini K Jimo from Pilgrim He Secondary School and Chumlise from Agape School, Kiphire were adjudged as first and second runners up respectively. The competition which was sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Government of lndia, for students in the age group of 13-17 years was held keeping in view the 30th anniversary of the Montreal Protocol and the Ozone Heroes campaign of the Ozone Secretariat, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The entries were evaluated and finalized by a panel of judges from the Regional Office of the Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change.
