BMS observes World Water Day

Kohima, March 22 (MExN): Like every March 22nd, Baptist Mission School Jotsoma observed World Water Day with the objective to send across the message to reduce wastage of water. The Eco-Club students of class 10 cleaned the pond, which they use as the source of water for washrooms and the flower-garden. The Energy-Club students observed the day with a drawing competition. The Headmaster of the school exhorted the students to conserve water and to be economic in the usage of water.  

Bounden duty to protect children: Gov

Kohima, March 22 (MExN): Stating it a bounden duty to protect children from different kind of harms – abuse, neglect, exploitation, physical danger and violence, Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya today expressed hope that Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) and the Eastern Naga Students’ Union (ENSUB) will continue to strive for the welfare and safety of the North East Students in Bengaluru. The Governor Acharya has congratulated NSUB and (ENSUB on the rescued five Naga minors who had fled their homes in search of employment in Bengaluru. In a message, the Governor congratulated all members of NSUB and ENSUB for rescuing the children and for providing shelter and reuniting them with their parents back in Nagaland.  

Deputy Labour Commissioner notifies

Kohima, March 22 (DIPR): The Deputy Labour Commissioner has issued a circular stating that as required under Sub-Section (1) (2) and (3) of Section 36 of the Nagaland Shops and Establishments Act, 1986, all owners and employers of those Shops, Commercial Establishments and Amusements except those exempted by the Act, should get registered/ renew their Establishment in the Labour Commissioner's Office, Kohima District at New Secretariat complex on or before 30th April for the year 2018. If any employer carries on business without a valid Registration Certificate after 30th April,2018, he/she shall be liable to pay penalty equal to the fee prescribed for registration or renewal of registration, as the case maybe, plus an additional penalty at Rupees Two per day of continued default as per Sub- Section (6) of Section 36 of the Nagaland Establishments Act, 1986.  

Governor appeal to observe Earth Hour

Kohima, March 22 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has appealed the people of the State to lend support to Earth Hour by having non essential lights switched off from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM on Saturday, March 24. He called on all to create a healthy and environmentally safe world by playing ones role in reducing carbon footprint in personal life and work place. The Governor stated that every year citizens around the world unite through symbolic action of switching off non essential lights for one hour and the movement has inspired millions to take a stand against climate change. Governor Acharya also appealed the people of the Nagaland to log onto www.earthhour.in to know how they can adopt simple practices in their day to day lives that are environment friendly. This was stated in a press release issued by PRO to Governor.
