Dimapur, January 5 (MExN): The Nagaland Police Baptist Churches Association (NPBCA) in view of the forthcoming jubilee celebration on February 3 to 5, 2014 has called a meeting of all its jubilee planning board members and committee conveners on January 15, 2014, 10:00 am at NPBCA Mission Compound. Rev Dr N Mong Lotha has requested all the committee conveners to attend the meeting with committee preparation updates report regarding the NPBCA Silver Jubilee celebration.
Lost car found by GPRN/NSCN
Dimapur, January 5 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN found a lost Maruti Van with regd. NLO5-C/1796 bearing engine no. 2284779, which is now in the safe custody and kept at Ghukiye designated camp. Therefore, the MIP informs the rightful owner to claim the vehicle by producing necessary documents or contact 09856684132 for inquiry within one week period of time from the date of issue of this press communiqué after which no claims shall be entertained. This was stated in a press release issued by MIP, GPRN/NSCN.

DLSU condemns Dec 28 incident
Dimapur, January 5 (MExN): Dimapur Lotha Students’ Union (DLSU) has vehemently condemned the December 28 incident in Dimapur, which led to the death of Akivito Sumi, a student of Christian Higher Secondary School. In a press statement issued by its president Chenithung Kithan and Education & Statistics secretary Wilson Odyuo, DLSU condemned the incident in its highest level. Appreciating the district administration and police department for the timely arrest of the culprits involved, students’ union asked the department concerned to give them befitting and exemplary punishment “so that no one in the future dares to commit such crime.” Meanwhile, DLSU also expressed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul.
PVC general meeting on Jan 7
Dimapur, January 5 (MExN): The Peducha Village Council will hold its general meeting on January 7 at PVC Hall,10.00 am. Therefore all the secretaries have been requested to give their detail reports during the general meeting. The Village Council has also requested all women leaders, students leaders and youth leaders to attend the general meeting without fail. Further, the council also informed that agendas can be put forward before the meeting starts. The general meeting will be chaired by Thepfüyiengu Vielie, Chairman PVC, invocation will be pronounced by Pecüvilie Kruneilie, Pastor Peducha Baptist Church and vote of thanks will be delivered by Thepfülhouto Naprantsu.
NPCB on tree plantation in urban areas
Kohima, January 5 (MExN): The Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) stated that trees play a major role in purifying the air. In its pamphlet entitled “Clean Dimapur City Campaign 2013,” it stated that urbanization has given rise to deforestation as trees are being cleared to give way to concrete structures. “While development is unavoidable, the greenery of the city should not be overlooked in the process,” it stated. In this regard, the Board suggested that the government may protect existing trees, set up recreational areas such as parks where greenery may be maintained, encourage citizens to plant and protect trees and proper selection of tree species suitable for urban areas.

Longleng, January 5 (MExN): The Longleng District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of January will be held on January 9, 11:00 am at Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall. Therefore, Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman K Libanthung Lotha has requested all the members to attend the meeting without fail.
37th AR seize assorted IMFL
Dimapur, January 5 (MExN): In another major haul of illegal liquor, the MVCP duty party of the 37th AR recovered 1108 cases (26, 100 bottles) of assorted IMFL/Beer at Jharnapani NH-29, Dimapur on January 4 from a truck bearing registration no. NL-07A-4395. In this regard, three accused persons namely Neepen kalita (24 years), Mainul Uddin (23 years) and Lucky Rahaman (23 years) were arrested and handed over to the Excise department. A case has been registered under the NLTP Act 1989 and further investigation is on. KY Sangtam, Superintendent of Excise and Prohibition in a press release has acknowledged the vigilant effort of the 37th AR.

The inaugural function will be graced by L. Dikho, MLA 48/Mao and the closing ceremony will be graced by K.C Lokho IPS, Commandant 7th IRB, Manipur.
