Charity event for differently-abled

Kohima, August 21 (MExN): A charity event for the differently-abled will take place on August 25, 3:00 pm at RCEMPA, Jotsoma under the aegis of Metanoia Club and Tabitha Enabling Academy. Dr. Atha Vizol, State Commissioner for persons with disabilities, Government of Nagaland will grace the event as special guest. The event will witness concert featuring BCK choir, Susa Sami, Vime Metha, Ethnic Future, Alobo Naga & The Band, Chuba Imchen, Virie and Divine Connection.  

Governor extends Id-Ul-Zuha greetings

Kohima, August 21 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, on the occasion of Id-Ul-Zuha, has conveyed warm greetings to the people of Nagaland and wished for harmony and brotherhood in the society. In a message released to the media by his PRO, Acharya hoped that the sacred occasion will usher in good will and harmony and further strengthen the values of composite society everywhere. Id-Ul-Zuha, also known as the sacrifice festival or Bakrid Id, is the second of the two Muslim festivals celebrated worldwide each year, he noted. The Governor prayed that Allah’s blessings light up the path of oneness and lead to happiness and success.  

Laparoscopy workshop in Mkg from today

Kohima, August 21 (MExN): The Indian Medical Association Nagaland chapter will be organizing a free laparoscopy workshop at Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) Mokokchung and Impur Christian Hospital, Mokokchung from August 22 to 24. In the workshop, lap cholecystectomy, lap appendectomy, total laparoscopic hysterectomy, lap myomectomy, lap ovariotomy and lap cystectomy operations will be done by prominent surgeons of Nagaland. Patients can contact Dr. P. Medem Mayang, Medical Superintendent (9436006230), Dr. Aonungdok Tushi (9436006078/7005104609) of IMDH and Dr. Chuba Medical, Superintendent of Impur Christian Hospital Mokokchung.  

Over 200 kg local fish sold in Kohima

Kohima, August 21 (MExN): The Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Kohima district sold more than 200 kg of different varieties of local fish to the residents of Kohima Town on August 21, according to a DIPR report. District Fishery Officer of Kohima, Dory Yanthan said that fish were collected from the fish farmers of Kohima Village and Thizama to meet the market demand of fish and also to encourage fish farmers for better farming and more fish production, the report said. She further assured that the department will strive to meet the public demand occasionally.
