Phek DPDB meeting held
Phek, October 10 (MExN): The monthly meeting of Phek District Planning & Development Board meeting was held on October 10 at Phek DPDB Hall. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Vice chairman DPDB, Phek Orenthung Lotha. In his address the DC welcomed the newly posted officers and all the members present in the meeting. The meeting began with the review of the last meeting minutes. Upgradation of Lower Primary School, Akhwego village to Middle School was approved at the meeting and forwarded to the concern Department. Power Presentation on Departmental activities was given by DRDA Department Phek. The next DPDB meeting will be held on November 9 at Shilloi Lake .The members are requested to reach Meluri on November 8 with their own bedrolls.
Transport Minister visits Mokokchung Transport Establishment
Mokokchung, October 10 (MExN): Minister of Transport, Communications and Railways, Land Resources, Govt. of Nagaland, P Paiwang Konyak on his maiden trip to Mokokchung after assuming his Office, visited the Office of Divisional Manager, Nagaland State Transport (NST) and Regional Transport office, Mokokchung on October 9. While interacting with the officers and staff, he pointed that he is a tough task-master who believes in taking up one’s responsibilities and duties with utmost sincerity, therefore, he expects the same from all the officers and staff, any lapses in their assigned duties will not be tolerated he added. He also made it clear that his Office is always open to take up their grievances and problems. On the proposed introduction of City Bus service in Mokokchung Town, he assigned the Divisional Manager (NST) to study and report the feasibility and prospect of City Bus service in Mokokchung at the earliest so that the matter can be taken up further, a DIPR report stated. He was very positive about the introduction of Bus service as it will greatly help the daily commuters and in a way, will ease the traffic problem in the town.
Workshop on Homestays at Pughoboto
Pughoboto, October 10 (MExN): The District administration of Pughoboto organised a workshop on homestays for the unemployed youth and people on October 10 Pughoboto town hall. According to a DIPR report, about 50 participants attended the workshop. Hutoni and Yiami from YouthNet deliberated on the prospects and potential of establishing homestays by the local people which not only generates income for the people but also promotes and sustains tourism. ADC Pughoboto, Phuleshe appealed to the people of Pughoboto to venture into the new upcoming sector which is a potential sector for the north east region. He stated that Thuwuni festival, which will be held in Pughoboto from November 15 to 17, 2018 will be the first platform for the Pughoboto people to experience the concept of homestay.
Skill Development Training at Mon
Mon, October 10 (MExN): A job oriented training programme with the topic “Learn to Earn” was held at Mon town council hall on October 9 under the Skill Development, Government of Nagaland. A brief introduction was delivered by Kumar Ramnikant IAS, ADC Mon where he expounded on the role and functions of the organization and also encouraged the youths. The orientation training details was delivered by Varun Gaba (Project Head, Learn to Earn). According to DIPR report, various schools, Heads of Offices, NGOs and KSU, MTSU attended the program.
ADC Kohima informs on Special Camp for revision of Electoral Roll
Kohima, October 10 (MExN): Litrongla Tongpi Rutsa, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Electoral Registration Officer, Kohima Nagaland has informed that the second Special Camp in connection with the ongoing Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll wrt 01.01.2019, as the qualifying date, will be held on October in all the polling stations. Accordingly, all the concerned Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been directed to be present in their respective polling station location for the Special Camp. All concerned Head of Offices, Proprietor, Ward/Colony Chairman and Village Council Chairman and Village Council Chairman have been requested to ensure that the Office buildings/schools/panchayat halls/council halls that are designated polling stations are kept open along with basic furniture for the aforementioned Special Camp Day.
