Minor detained for murder of 15 yr old Our Correspondent Kohima | November 15 A minor boy, said to be aged around 14 years has been detained for investigation in connection with the alleged murder of a 15-year old girl whose body was found on November 13 in Kohima. As reported earlier, the body of the 15 year old was found with injuries on the face on Tuesday around 9.50 am inside an under construction building at Seikhazou. The body was identified on November 14 by family around 10 am. According to Police sources, the victim is said to have informed her family that she was going to a prayer centre on Sunday. Police sources said that investigation is underway and at the same time the post mortem report is still awaited.The victim is reported to be a Class-7 student of a public school in Kohima.   DAYO condemns abduction Dimapur, November 15 (MExN): The Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (DAYO) has condemned the act of abducting a working Ao woman from a pharmacy by IM cadres. The DAYO in a press release stated that ‘such despicable act was alien to Naga culture and ethos’ and no reason could justify such act on any woman added the release. It acknowledged the Dimapur Police for arresting the kidnappers. The Organisation further extended full support to the police so that justice is served and the rule of law prevails in Dimapur.   KMC enforces permit to open shops Kohima, November 15 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed all concerned that to facilitate public needs and requirements, the permit to open shops on Sunday will be issued to 10 shops in every ward after obtaining No Objection Certificate from the concerned Ward Chairman. The notification issued by Kovi Meyase, Administrator, KMC stated that the order will be enforced with immediate effect.   Major Gen Kutsoru Lohe supports ongoing peace talks Oking, November 15 (MExN): Major General Kutsoru Lohe, Acting C-in-C, Naga Army, Federal Government of Nagaland extended support to the ongoing peace talks between the NNPGs and the Government of India. A press statement from Major Lohe urged the two entities to be sincere in resolving the issues timely so that lasting peace can prevail in the land. Major Lohe further acknowledged Brigadier (Retd) S. Singnya, the Kedahge and the Federal Government of Nagaland for the privilege to serve the nation. He stated that it was a huge responsibility ‘’but I will try to do justice to the trust by adhering to the Yehzabo of Nagaland and the Naga Army Rules and Regulations to serve the Naga Nation with sincerity, zeal and commitment,” added the statement. Major Lohe called upon all Naga Army personnel to give their best/co-operation and serve the Nation with ‘unity, loyalty and dedication.’   Various bodies condemn murder Kohima, November 15 (MExN): Various Organizations and Unions have condemned the alleged murder of a teenage girl whose body was found at a school in Kohima on November 13. CCKK: The Chakhesang Checho Krotho Kohima (CCKK) has condemned the brutal murder of a teenage girl. In a press statement, the CCKK has appealed the law enforcing agency to book the culprit and reward the most befitting punishment as per the law. DYO: The Dapfhütsumia Youth Organization (DYO) has issued a press release condemning the murder. The DYO cautioned the law and enforcement agency to book culprits and reward punishment according to the law. The Organization further conveyed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the aggrieved family. Kohima Village: The Dapfhütsumia Council, Dapfhütsumia Students’ Union, and Dapfhütsumiapfü Mechü Krotho, Kohima Village has jointly condemned the murder. In a press release, the bodies expressed resentment against the barbaric act committed in their jurisdiction. The release further appealed the law enforcement agencies to expedite the investigation by booking the culprit/s and assured full support and cooperation. “Such an abominable act cannot be tolerated in our society,” stated the bodies and further pledged to pursue the case until justice was served.
