YTC president allegedly threatened

Tuensang, November 17 (MExN): The Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC) has condemned an alleged threat on its president. The YTC issued a press release today alleging that its President was threatened over phone by a member of the Finance Committee of the Khango Konyak led group of the NSCN-K identified as one Mukhe on November 17. The YTC asked the “competent authority” to produce the person, who made the intimidating call to the office of the YTC at Shamator within three days. “Failing which the YTC will be compelled to initiate its own course of action,” it cautioned. The YTC did not reveal much when contacted for further details.  

Peraciezie Youth Org reforms office

Kohima, November 17 (MExN): Peraciezie Youth Organization (PYO), under KMC Ward No 1 (High School), Kohima has been reorganized. A press release from the president Kevisetso Miachieo stated that the new team of office bearers is led by Kevisetso Miachieo as President, Khriesakeduo Kelio as Secretary and Dzieseneilie Mepfhüo as Treasurer. Any information or matter pertaining to PYO may be addressed to the new bearers, the release informed. The organization has also sought support and co-operation of the residents of Peraciezie Colony and the public for maintenance of peaceful atmosphere within the colony for the welfare of all.  

Zelu Council refutes on water supply project

Senapati, November 17 (MExN): The Zelu Council Manipur and Nagaland (M&N) in an open letter to the Chief Minister of Nagaland has stated that the proposed augmentation of water supply project from Teifuiki/Dzukou signed on July 31 between Khonoma, Poilwa and the Government of Nagaland cannot be allowed as it was done without the knowledge of the traditional landowner ZE MNUI (Yangkhullen). A press release issued by Rangom Hau, Chairman, Zelu Council (M&N) has requested the Chief Minister to refrain from campaigning the said augmentation of water supply project as the traditional landowner was not consulted and the concern not consented as well.  

ANHTU Dmp unit informs for Silver Jubilee

Dimapur, November 17 (MExN): All Nagaland Hindi Teachers Union (ANHTU) Dimapur Unit has informed Government Hindi Teachers under Dimapur District to attend the Silver Jubilee Celebration on November 22 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima. The Union has arranged two buses for the teachers with bus stoppages at NST Bus Station (Near Railway Gate) at 6:00 am; Burma Camp Junction; Purana Bazar (Hollohon Petrol Pump); Padampukhuri Gate; 4th Mile (Agri Expo Gate); 7th Mile (Near SBI), Medziphema Police Point. Teachers who will be going by their private vehicle or by bus are requested to give their details on or before November 20. Garos to celebrate Wangala on Nov 21

Dimapur, November 17 (MExN): The Garos in Nagaland will be celebrating its Post-Harvest "Wangala” on November 21, 10:00 am at Samaguri play ground, Dimapur. A press release from General Secretary Nagaland Garo Tribal Council (NGTC) stated that the programme is being organised by Wangala Celebration Committee in association with NGTC and Garo Students' Union Nagaland Zone (GSUNZ) hosted by Samaguri Village. The Union, has therefore appealed Government Department to grant one day leave to all the Garo Employee to attend the festival. The union has further requested all Garo inhabitants of Nagaland to compulsorily attend the festival.  

WHKAA condoles demise of Late Pastor

Dimapur, November 17 (MExN): Western Huker Kiuru Arih Ako (WHKAA) has condoled the demise of late Hanphubah, Pastor Jinsoru village who passed away at Referral Hospital Dimapur on November 9. In a condolence message, WHKAA stated that “he was a God fearing and trustworthy person who devoted his entire life in the service of Jinsoru Baptist Church” and conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family.
