Name change for Dimapur roads Dimapur, April 26 (MExN): In pursuance to the Government notification, the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur has informed that two stretches of roads in Dimapur town has been designated with new nomenclatures. The road from Dhobinallah to Thahekhu Junction shall be designated as “Dr. Hokishe Sema Road” and City Tower Junction to Tragopan Junction shall be designated as “I. Vikheshe Sema Road.” In this regard, the DC has notified all shops, business establishments of Dimapur district along the said roads to re-designate their signboards accordingly. Also, all shops, business establishments of Dimapur district along the Old market Durga Mandir to Deluxe Point road are notified to use the full form of MP Road i.e. Mhalie Peseyie Road in their signboards accordingly. The DC Dimapur Kesonyu Yhome, IAS in a press release cautioned that non compliance of both the orders within 30 days from the date of issue of this order will invite penal action. FGN’s Naga Army mourn Kohima, April 26 (MExN): The Naga Army of the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has mourned the demise of Lt. Col. Kiurang, 2nd Bn. 1st Brigade. In a message, the Commander-in-Chief of the Naga Army, FGN, Lt. Gen. Tavecho Lala, expressed deep grief and shock over the sudden demise and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. Lt. Col. Kiurang of Chiulon village, Zeliangrong Region, joined the Naga Army on March 3, 1957 and “faithfully” served the Naga nation till his death, the C-in-C stated in his message. “His true sacrifice and patriotic service rendered to the Naga Nation will always remain alive in the living history of the Nation,” the message added. FGN to observe Phizo’s 27th death anniv Kohima, April 26 (MExN): The Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has informed that it will be observing the 27th death anniversary of the “Father of the Naga Nation” – AZ Phizo, on April 30, 7:00 am at Phizo Hill, Kohima. A press release in this regard has requested all national workers and fellow Naga citizens to participate in the commemoration. Finance Dept notifies Kohima, April 26 (DIPR): The Finance Department has stated in a notification that in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the Section 3A of the Nagaland (Sale of Petroleum and Petroleum Products including Motor Spirit and Lubricants) Taxation Act, 1967 (as amended), the Government of Nagaland has notified that the rate of tax prescribed under Serial Number 5 and 6 of Schedule II of the Act shall stand amended. Rate of tax to be levied on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) sold to Turbo-Prop Aircraft as specified in clause (ii d) of section 14 of the Central Sales Tax Act, 1956 (Central Act 74 of 1956) will be 1% tax as opposed to the existing rate of 5%. Rate of tax for Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) not falling under the above will be 1% as opposed to the existing rate of 20%. The amended rate comes into effect from the date of issue of this notification.
