ARSU caution absentee teachers Kiphire, July 14 (MExN): Amahator Range Students’ Union (ARSU) officials conducted the 1st phase of educational tour within its jurisdiction. During the tour, ARSU detected irregular teachers and were cautioned that the absentees will be penalized as per the resolution of ARSU. ARSU also lamented upon the shortage of teachers at GPS Keor and GMS/GPS Hurong. At present the enrollment of students is fairly high at the schools i.e. Keor GPS and Hurong GPS/GMS, presently only three teachers are deployed in GPS Keor and six teachers at GMS/GPS Hurong. Therefore, ARSU has appealed to the department to look into the position of teachers seriously and take necessary steps so that the student’s careers are not hampered.   KMC penalize shops for charging exorbitant rates Kohima, July 14 (DIPR): Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), Administrator, Kethosituo Sekhose has informed regarding the inspection carried out on July 12 and 13 with regard to the reports of the selling of green vegetables at exorbitantly rates beyond that prescribed by the KMC. Trade License of 27 shops from various parts of the city were seized during the same and the defaulters were thereafter warned and penalized under Section 471 of the Municipal Act, 2001. Appealing consumers to inform the KMC of any such cases, Sekhose instructed all business community under KMC jurisdiction to adhere to the prescribed rates. He also cautioned defaulters of penalization under relevant laws. He also stated that the list of defaulters will be published from time to time in the coming days.   PFPSD clear blocked road at Pungro Pungro, July 14 (MExN): Following the incessant rainfall, heavy landslides blocked the stretch of 02-road leading to Likimro Hydro Electric Project (LHEP) and Pungro to Mimi village road causing immense hardship and suffering to the general public in the areas for quite some time now. The citizens and various organizations spearheaded by Public Forum Pungro Sub-Division (PFPSD) initiated and cleared the blocked road. PFPSD, President S. Kiusumew Yimchungru in a press release informed that they have cleared the blockade road twice at 02-road after the road was repaired earlier. Kiusumew also said that citizen and forum have also initiated to clear the road between Pungro and Mimi village. Meanwhile, the PFPSD, further appeals to the state government and department concerned to take appropriate measure to maintain and repair the road at the earliest for the common benefit of the peoples and society at large.
