
LRC (NNC) observes 71st Naga I-Day Wokha, August 14 (MExN): The Lotha Regional Council (NNC) parent body observed the 71st Naga Independence Day at Wokha on August 14. The Lotha Regional Council (NNC) in a press release issued by the MP Secretary, Ekyimthung Patton stated that it will support and stand firmly to the formation of the NNPGs recently to save and protect all Nagas inhabited areas in the northeast regions/Myanmar, as it was acknowledged by Mahatma Gandhi and United Nation since the declaration of our sovereignty. Further, it is also informed that all the Sub Regions in Lotha Regions like Tiyi Region, Englan Region and Totsu Region has observed the 71st Naga Independence Day peacefully. CNTC support demands of WU-NPPCL Dimapur, August 14 (MExN): The Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) has demanded to the state government to immediately address the plight and the grievances of the Workers Union of the Nagaland Pulp and Paper Company (WU-NPPCL) Tuli lest it may snowball into another major upheaval. CNTC, Media Cell in a press release said that due to the lackadaisical attitude of the state government, despite of continuous appeal even after a lapse of so many months, the long suffering workers has been put over the edge and with their patience fully running out dry, the Workers Union have now took into the streets as the last resort in order to show their resentment and for the redressal of their numerous demands. “The people of the four districts have been put into tremendous hardship due to the economic blockade,” it added. Therefore, the CNTC has asked the state government to look into the sufferings and take immediate measures to fulfill the charter of demands of the workers union without any delay. Info on teacher’s day token flags Kohima, August 14 (DIPR): All District Education Officers and Sub-Divisional Education Officers have been informed to collect Teachers' Day token flags from August 16 to 24 from the Directorate of School Education, Kohima (Room N0-38) without fail. All Heads of both Government and Private Schools have also been requested to collect the Teachers' Day tokens flags from their respective District Education Officers/ Sub- Divisional Education Officers. More demand shifting of DMC dumping site Dimapur, August 14 (MExN): The Sangpangyu Colony and A. Mao Colony under United North Block ‘B’ Dimapur have resolved to extend full cooperation and support to the Sunrise Colony and UNB-Naga Colony in their demand to shift the DMC dumping site. The two colonies in a press release stated that a joint emergency meeting was held on August 13 at the residence of I Saku Pongen, A Moa Colony and resolved to support shifting of the DMC dumping site “since the issue involved in a health hazard, affecting all the residents of the two said colonies.” Market to remain close till 12 noon Dimapur, August 14 (MExN): All markets and shops in Dimapur will remain closed till 12:00 noon on August 15. KMC Administrator, Kethosituo Sekhose has directed business establishments and shops under the jurisdiction of Kohima Municipal Council to close down during the official function of Independence Day celebration on August 15 from 7:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
