DAPO general assembly on Jan 23 DIMAPUR, JANUARY 17 (MExN): The Downstream Affected People’s Organization (DAPO) has convened its 2nd General Assembly on January 23 from Menshangpen Village at 9:00am. The Advisors and all the members/representatives from the respective 10 villages are requested to attend the assembly positively, informed press note from the DAPO Secretary, Wobemo Tsopoe.   KPC 15th foundation day on Jan 20 KOHIMA, JANUARY 17 (MExN): The Kohima Press Club (KPC) will hold its 15th Foundation Day on January 20 at 2:00pm in the conference hall, KPC new office. The Kohima Press club has invited all its members, former executives and members, patrons and well wishers to attend the programme.   Nagaland has 29, 631 People with Disabilities Our Correspondent Kohima | January 17   Nagaland has 29, 631 People with Disabilities in the state as per the 2011 census. The Nagaland State Disability Forum (NSDF) was officially formed in January 2014 following a series of meetings, trainings and workshops facilitated and sponsored by CBR Forum Bangalore in partnership with NGOs from Nagaland namely, Development Association of Nagaland, People in Need Foundation, Prodigals’ Home in Dimapur, Youth Action for Rural Development in Kohima and Care & Support Society in Mokokchung. NSDF is an umbrella, currently for 70 Village Level Disabled People Organizations comprised of more than 2000 people with disabilities who are registered with the aforementioned NGOs. NSDF aims at mobilizing all the disabled people of the state to be a member of the Forum thereby providing a platform for collective effort towards assuring rights and duties of people with disabilities in the state and beyond. Since its inception NSDF has been tirelessly advocating the state government for the revival of District Disability Rehabilitation Centre in Dimapur. “The NSDF is committed to fight for the rights of People with Disabilities,” a leaflet received here stated.
