GPPK general meeting on Jan 24 Kohima, January 19 (MExN): The General body meeting of the Gorkha Public Panchayat, Kohima (GPPK) will be held at the GPPK Hall Chandmari, Kohima on January 24 at 12 noon. Matters concerning the society such as finalisation of the descendent list, construction of GPPK building including resource centre and other important issues relating to the community will be discussed. GPPK Press & Publicity Secretary Rajeev Rai in a press release has requested the general body members, executives of the Gorkha NGOs and GBs to attend the meeting.   Dimapur DPDB meeting on Jan 22 Dimapur, January 19 (MExN): The Dimapur District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting will be held on January 22. This is for the information of all concerned.  

KPC 15th foundation day on Jan 20 KOHIMA, JANUARY 19 (MExN): The Kohima Press Club (KPC) will hold its 15th Foundation Day on January 20 at 2:00pm in the conference hall, KPC new office. The Kohima Press club has invited all its members, former executives and members, patrons and well wishers to attend the programme.   NPF CEC meeting on Jan 29 Kohima, January 19 (MExN): In exercise of the powers conferred vide Article V Clause 3 read with Article IV Clause 3 Sub-Clause (i) of the Constitution, Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu President NPF has convened the next Central Executive Council (CEC) meeting on January 29 at 11:00 am in the Central Office HQs Kohima. Therefore all the CEC members are directed to attend the meeting without fail.   Government schools cautioned on charging exorbitant fee Dimapur, January 19 (MExN): On receiving ‘a good number of complaints’, all government schools in Dimapur falling under urban and highway areas have been cautioned on admission fees. Dimapur (DEO (officiating) R Amongla Jamir in a press release stated that the office has received complaints of some schools of charging admission fee at an exorbitant rate. Therefore, she informed that department officials will be deputed to visit the schools during admission. All heads of institution are directed to take serious note of this notification with respect to RTE Act and take corrective measure.   DC Mokokchung informs Mokokchung, January 19 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS has informed that Republic Day will be celebrated at Mokokchung on January 26 at Imkongmeren Sports Complex. In this connection, all Head of Departments are informed to attend the function along with their staff. Deputy Commissioner further stated that attendance of all Government Employees will be taken and absentee will be viewed seriously.   Mon DCC president appointed Dimapur, January 19 (MExN): On the recommendation of executive committee of Mon District Congress Committee, President NPCC K Therie has appointed Y Chingwang Wangsa Konyak to the post of President, District Congress.  N Yona Konyak, General Secretary (Admn) NPCC in a press release stated that Committee Mon in place of Takyong relieved on request.   Uploading of AISHE data Kohima, January 19 (DIPR): The Directorate of Higher Education Nagaland Kohima has requested Universities, Secular Colleges, Polytechnics, DIETs and Nursing Institute within Nagaland to upload the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) data for 2015-16 which was launched by Zubini Irani, Minister of Human Resource Development on 21st December 2015. The uploading of the data in the prescribed data capture format by the institution is to be completed by 28th February 2016.   Mobile bio-metric registration for Kohima Kohima, January 19 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor, IAS has informed that, the Mobile Bio-Metric Registration Bus for Kohima District has been detailed for spot registration of bio-metric of the left out population (5 years and above) at the following locations between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The dates and locations/movement details are as follows: January 19-Khuzama Village; January 20-Khonoma; January 21-Zhadima (3 PM bus will proceed to Gariphema & halt); January 22-Gariphema (3 PM bus will proceed to Sendenyu & halt); January 23-Sendenyu.  The administrative officer concerned are to make wide publicity even to close neighbouring villages and co-ordinate the logistic arrangements including night-halts for the team (7-8 persons). Enumerators of respective locations are also requested to assist the team.   No change of book contents: DoSE Kohima, January 19 (MExN): The Directorate of School Education informed all the District Education Officers and Sub Divisional Education Officers that before the arrival of new text books the text books supplied last year can be used in order to start the regular classes in time, “as there will be no change of book contents for the current session too.” In this connection, school education director Senthang informed all the concerned officers to accordingly inform the schools under their respective jurisdiction.
