NIIT students informed
Dimapur, March 16 (MExN): All the NIIT students of NIIT Dimapur Center and Unity College have been informed to attend a special session with the Director & Team Royal Tigers on 19, 11:00 am at NIIT’s conference hall. A press release from Ajay Sethi, Head of Centre, NIIT Dimapur Centre further informed all the NIITians who have appeared their exams till last month to collect respective certificates within this month. Interested NIITians who are looking for better job opportunities may submit their resume to niitdimapur@yahoo.co.in, it added.
Police at Zubza seize 100 kg ganja
Kohima, March 16 (MExN): Personnel of Sechü (Zubza) Police Station seized 100 kg of contraband ganja from a local taxi during routine checking along NH-29 on March 16 around 9:30 am. A press release from PRO, Kohima Police informed that the driver of the vehicle identified as Zubenthung Odyuo (25) was taken into police custody on the charge of illegal possession and transportation of contraband ganja.
Meanwhile, a regular case vide Sechü (Zübza) P.S Case No. 0006/2016 U/S 20 (b) (c) NDPS Act was registered against the arrested person and he is remanded into police custody for conducting further investigation, the PRO said.
Tobacco Free Schools awarded in Dimapur
Dimapur, March 16 (DIPR): The District Level Coordination Committee Review Meeting for the 4th Quarterly 2015-2016 was held at DC conference hall on March 16. Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur and Chairman DLCC Dimapur District, Kesonyu Yhome while exhorting the gathering congratulated the recipients of Tobacco Free School certificates and encouraged them to implement it in true sense as many do not bother after getting the award. Yhome also highlighted the importance of all heads of institutions in the district to take part in anti tobacco campaign.
DC further appealed to the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union to become a major stakeholder in fighting against tobacco. The house discussed at length on ‘Smoke Free Dimapur’. In regard to putting up anti tobacco signboards in government schools, the house resolved to take up the matter with the department concerned.
Tobacco Free School certificates were awarded to Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, C-Edge College, Dimapur, St Savio Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, Agape School, Chumukedima, Daeshin Academy, Dimapur, St Francis School, Medziphema and St Mary Montessori Higher Secondary School, Dimapur.
NBSE interact with new heads of schools
Kohima, March 16 (DIPR): The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), Kohima conducted an interaction with the newly appointed heads of Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools on March 15 at Ura Academy Hall, Kohima. A total of 146 heads of schools attended the meeting.
The interaction is an annual programme of the Board, where the newly appointed heads are apprised of the different expectations as heads of institutions and also briefed about their duties and responsibilities.
In the programme, Chairman, NBSE, Asano Sekhose dwelled on the importance of administration in the school and on the role and leadership aspects of the head. She urged the heads of schools to partner together to bring about positive change in the system.
Controller of Exams, Rangumbuing spoke on examination matters and reforms initiated by the Board, Coordinator (IT) Kekhrielhoutuo gave a PowerPoint presentation on the use of technology and connectivity, and Sr. Academic Officer, Iluheing spoke on the academic aspects, the essence of an institution. The meeting concluded with an interactive session where many doubts and queries were clarified.
