All alumni are requested to attend the meeting without fail as important issues regarding the Alumni Nite will be discussed and finalized. 100th birthday of WW II veteran Sovehu Kohima, April 2 (MExN): The 100 birthday celebration of WW II veteran Sovehu Nienu will take place on April 7 at Phek village at 2:00 pm. Greetings will be shared by MLA Kuzholüzo (Azo) Nienu, while release of biography of Sovehu Nienu will be done by Col. BR. Devprasad, CO, 46th AR, Phek. The function will be chaired by Kupota Khesoh while brief history of Sovehu Nienu will be given by Chovose Nienu.

Doyang Union Philimi-Tsungiki informs Dimapur, April 2 (MExN): The Doyang Union Philimi-Tsungiki is organizing annual traditional community fishing on April 8 within its jurisdiction. Doyang Union Philimi-Tsungiki Chairman Wobemo Kikon and Secretary Khekivi in a press release informed that nominal vehicle fees will be realized from those coming to participate in the fishing. Ganja seized at Khuzama check gate Dimapur, April 2 (MExN): The Excise (Narcotic cell) personnel manning inter-state check gate at Khuzama recovered 70 kg of ganja from a Guwahati bound Imphal truck bearing Regd. No. WB41E-7374, which was fully loaded with used papers and old batteries. In this connection, the handyman of the vehicle identified as Jahar Kumar Hrangkhwal was arrested and forwarded to judicial custody and booked under Sec 20 (b) of NDPS ACT ‘85 as the driver of the vehicle fled from the scene under the cover of darkness. The case is under investigation and the effort is on to arrest the prime accused, informed a press release from Deputy Commissioner of Excise Visedelie Mepfuo.   Immanuel College visits Silver Lines Academy Dimapur, April 2 (MExN): Education Honours students (BA 2nd, 4th and 6th Semesters) of Immanuel College in Dimapur visited Silver Lines Academy, Dimapur as part of ‘Learning Education’ on March 30. The students were led by Temjen, Areni Murry, and Abeni Mozhui, Assistant Professors of the department. Silver Lines Academy, established in 2015, is an academy for differently abled children. Department of Education, Immanuel College presented stationery gift sets and provided refreshments to the students of the academy. The College students also conducted a worship programme where the children of the academy showcased their talents. The students of Immanuel College have lauded the Director of the Academy and all its teachers for taking care of the children.
