Chakhesang church leaders' meet
Kohima, April 5 (MExN): The Chakhesang Public Organisation is organising Chakhesang Church Leaders' Meet under the theme ‘Unity in Christ’ on May 4, 10:30 am at Phek Town Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary, NBCC as the speaker. All the ordained ministers, pastors/ catechists, women pastors, youth directors from different denominations have been requested to attend the said program. Present and former Chakhesang legislators, former CPO office bearers, officials of all the Chakhesang frontal organisations, Executive members, Area/Range office bearers and well wishers have also been invited to be part of the program in a press release issued by Wekhrope Marhuh, Press Secretary, CPO.

Wokha, April 5 (MExN): There will be an emergency meeting for regularized Graduate Teachers posted in Bhandari whose names are included in the Graduate Teachers’ seniority list 2015 on April 9, 10:00 am at EBRC Hall, Bhandari. Therefore, Convenor A Steve Kithan has requested all to attend the meeting without fail.
Philimi-Tsungiki community fishing postponed
Wokha, April 5 (MExN): The annual community fishing between Philimi and Tsungiki villages, which was fixed on April 8, has been postponed. A new date will be fixed and notified later on, informed a press release issued by Doyang Union Philimi-Tsungiki.
Seminar at Tesophenyu church
Kohima, April 5 (MExN): One day seminar will be organised under the aegis of Tesophenyu Group Union Kohima (TGUK) on the theme “Big Village, Think Big” on April 9, 9:40 am onwards at Tesophenyu Lorinyu Baptist Church. South Nagas’ meeting on April 9
Kohima, April 5 (MExN): A general meeting of South Nagas’ Union of Nagaland State will be held on April 9, 11:00 am at the conference hall of People-In-Need Foundation Society, opposite Hotel Saramati, Super Market in Dimapur. Therefore, all the presidents, secretaries, advisors and representatives of federating unit tribes of South Nagas have been informed to attend the meeting positively, informed a press release from General Secretary of the Union, LK Peter Anal.
Rilan village silver jubilee
Dimapur, April 5 (MExN): In view of the silver jubilee celebration of Rilan village in Dimapur district scheduled for April 9, the Rilan village council and the villagers in a press note have invited all well wishers to come and bless the village. LVC chairman Nribemo Ovung has also appealed to all concerned within Rilan village jurisdiction to maintain peaceful environment so that the villagers could celebrate the jubilee in a befitting manner. The LVC has also informed all to respect the sentiments of the villagers at such times by not creating any unwanted situation at the border area.

Kohima, April 5 (MExN): Core Committee (CC) of Naga National Council (Non-Accordist) has expressed shock at the untimely demise of Hethana Ayeh, Home Kilonser under the leadership of President Kiumukam Yimchuger and General Secretary Hangping Zeliang on April 4. Convenor of the Core Committee Kheniho Achumi remembered Hethana Ayeh as one of the sincere and dedicated leaders. Meanwhile, the CC Secretary KT Jimomi stated, "We salute him for his good conducted" and prayed to almighty God for his soul to rest in peace.
Silent protest
in Kiphire today
Kiphire, April 5 (MExN): The Seyochung Village Council (SVC) will hold a silent protest on April 6 at Kiphire HQs against failure to respond to their ultimatum submitted to Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire. In a letter addressed to the Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire, the Seyochung Village Council stated, “We had submitted an ultimatum demanding revocation of your order dated 1st April 2016, however no positive response has been communicated to us by the district Administration. Having been deprived justice, we have now resolved to display our resentment through democratic means by way of holding silent protest.” The letter was signed by Head GB Seyochung Village Chothrise Sangtam and Chairman Seyochung Village Council Chokhaba Sangtam.
