DDEO Phek informs Phek, April 17 (MExN): Deputy District Education Officer (DDEO) of Phek has informed that the formats for Teachers Award and Government Teachers Financial Assistance formulated for untimely death, natural calamities, ailments, and for disabled will be made available at the District Education Office, Phek during office hour. The filled in formats for both categories after observing all formalities should reach the DDEO on or before May 10, it was stated.

Nine arrested for selling liquor Kohima, April 17 (MExN): A joint team of Kohima Police (North PS, South PS and women cell) raided several outlets selling IMFL at Jail colony, Lerie colony, and Old Ministers’ Hill colony in Kohima and arrested nine persons. The team also seized assorted IMFL comprising 31 cans of Budweiser, 28 quarter bottles of OC Blue whisky, 11 bottles of MC Rum, 6 bottles of MC whisky, 3 ½ bottles of Vodka, 5 bottles of Breezer, 1 quarter bottle of honey Bee, 20 cans of Kingfisher beer, 1 bottle of OC Black whisky, 23 cans of Fosters beer, and 1 bottle of Blenders Pride whisky, informed a press release from PRO, Kohima Police. The nine arrested persons have been identified as Vinay Sah (26), Satyanarayan Pandit (29), Muna Kumar (20), Pramod Kumar (22), Tribuwan Prasad (33), Rajesh Kumar Gupta (40), Sandeep Kumar (26), Namak Sah (33), and Pradeep Kumar (27). A regular case vide Kohima South P.S Case No. 0024/2016 U/S 44 (e) NLTP Act has been registered against the accused and they are remanded into judicial custody.   Nagaland Bharat Scouts & Guides life members’ meet Kohima, April 17 (MExN): The Nagaland Bharat Scouts & Guides (NBS&G) life members meet 2016- cum- laying of foundation stone of NBS&G golden jubilee building will take place on April 20, 11:00 am at NBS&G Hq, Bayavü, Kohima. Khriehu Liezietsu, Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Resources & Sports, Music Task Force and State Lotteries and president NBS&G will grace the occasion as the chief guest. Khyomo Lotha, life member and State Chief Commissioner of NBS&G will share greetings, while Dr. Joyce Zinyü will speak on behalf of life members. P. Atuo Mezhiir Sekhose, life member and State Commissioner (Scout) will deliver welcome address. Rev. Neikhrienyü, Pastor, Baptist Mission Church Kohima will pronounce dedication. The function will be chaired by K. Neibou Sekhose, life member and state treasurer, while vote of thanks will be proposed by John Tochimong, life member and State Organizing Commissioner (Scout).
