ZPO informs
Peren, May 1 (MExN): Zeliang People’s Organisation (ZPO) has informed all the presidents and secretaries of all the native village students' unions under Peren district that there will be an urgent meeting to discuss the matter regarding the recent appointment of SSA teacher in Peren district and some other important issue on May 4, 11:00 am at the council hall of Ngwalwa village. Therefore, all the presidents and secretaries concerned of each native village have been requested to attend the meeting positively.
Kohima Police recover IMFL
Kohima, May 1 (MExN): A team of Kohima Police recovered 151 cases of assorted IMFL during a raid carried out in a building at Kenuozou Colony, Kohima on April 30 around 5:00 am. The IMFL was recovered from a hidden chamber constructed beneath the floor of the building for concealing illegal IMFL, stated a press release issued by PRO, Kohima Police. One person identified as Kekuovil Pucho (34) was arrested in this regard and a regular case vide Kohima North P.S Case No. 0034/2016 U/S 44(a)(e) NLTP Act registered against him.
Organization condemns assault
Peren, May 1 (MExN): The Jalukie Pumling Youth Organisation Nagaland has expressed strong resentment at the assault of two Forest officials surveying Ntangki National Park on April 28. According to a press release from the organization president, Kutalak Mpom, individuals from a particular village seriously injured the Forest officials with “machete, pole, etc.” and also seized all their gadgets, mobile phones, and cash. Terming the act “intolerable”, the organization further stated that the incident could lead to further repercussion if the administration fails to book the perpetrators in time and punish them as per the law of the land.
Landslide affected families
in Mon receive cash relief
Mon, May 1 (DIPR): District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) along with officials from Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) distributed cash relief to the families affected by landslide at Techahan Ward, Mon Town on April 28. President of Techahan Ward Union expressed gratitude to the Government of Nagaland, NSDMA and DDMA Mon for the relief assistance. Altogether, 200 affected families were given cash relief under the State Disaster Response Fund. Techahan ward was affected by massive landslide triggered by incessant heavy rainfall during the 3rd week of April which lasted for about 6 days. About 70 houses were completely damaged and 130 houses severely affected displacing about 125 families from the ward.
Chishi Limi Kughuko Kuposhukulu releases book
Dimapur, May 1 (MExN): Chishi Limi Kughuko Kuposhukulu (CLKK) has released a book of the family tree titled ‘Chishi Limi Kughuko’. The book was released by Pukhayi Assumi, Parliamentary Secretary, Soil & Water Conservation, during the 4th general conference of CLKK on April 29 at Baptist Church, Nihoto Village.
A press release informed that Pukhayi lauded the editors for successfully bringing out the first edition of the book.
Prominent leaders, including KL Chishi, former Chief Minister, Nagaland, Yeshito Chishi, Ex- Minister, Khekiye Sema, IAS retired, and Yeshito Chishi, Advisor, Chishi Limi Kughuko, spoke during the conference, which was attended by 600 delegates.
The conference began with invocation prayer led by Rev. Yehoto Chishi. Blessing prayer for Chishi Limi was invoked by Yehoto K. Chishi, National Peace Prayer Centre. Special songs were presented by Khekato Chishi and Male Voice, Nihoto Village.
Dr. Nihoto P.Chishi, Head GB, Nihoto Village, who hosted the conference, delivered welcome speech, while Dr. Hesheto Chishi, Chairman, Chishi Limi Kughuko delivered the keynote address. The programme was chaired by Vihoto Chishi, while proceedings were recorded by Vitohe Chishi.
A new team of office bearers, executive members, and advisors of CLKK was also selected for the tenure 2016-19. Dr. Hesheto Chishi will continue to be the Chairman.
