NSACS launches two directories
Kohima, May 3 (MExN): Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) has published a ‘Directory of Social Protection Help Desks’ under DAPCU led single window model on social protection and ‘Directory of Central and State Schemes’ to facilitate HIV sensitive social and legal protection. The two directories were launched by the Project Director of NSACS in the presences of DAPCU National Resource Team; North East Regional Office – NACO, Programme Officers of NSACS, and DAPCU Staff on May 3, during the first day of DAPCU review meeting at the conference hall of NSACS. A press note stated that the District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU) led ‘Single Window’ Model for Social Protection is envisaged to improve the accessibility of entitlements and schemes by the HIV infected and affected communities. This model intends to facilitate entitlements and schemes provided by the state and central Government to all eligible People Living with HIV (PLHIV), Children Affected by AIDS (CABA) and Most at Risk Population (MARPs).
NBCC request for prayer and support
Kohima, May 3 (MExN): The Nagaland Baptist Churches Council (NBCC) has expressed concern at the plights of the victims of the recent violent natural calamities which hit different parts of the state. The inclement weather has caused havoc and rendered many people displaced and homeless which also resulted in enormous material damage. NBCC General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, while acknowledging all who have responded and extended humanitarian assistance, emergency relief and rehabilitation measures to the distraught populace, further request all the churches, regardless of denomination, to pray for the people in the affected areas and to extend whatever support they can in a time like this. Meanwhile, the Council expressed its solidarity and support to all the victims of the natural calamities and prays for God’s grace, strength and protection.
Women’s Conference from May 5-8
Dimapur, May 3 (MExN): A four-day women’s conference with the theme ‘Inside a women’s heart’ will be held from May 5 to 8 at The Lighthouse Church, Sinai Ministry, DC Court Junction Dimapur. The speakers of the conference are Imtijungla Longchar, writer and teacher and Alemsunep Jamir, pastor, World Impact Community Church. The conference is organised by WINGS (Women In God’s Service) of Sinai Ministry with the objective to encourage, support and empower other young girls and women who experience lack of self esteem, depression, loneliness and other emotional difficulties by helping them recognize, develop and realize their full potential by enhancing their spiritual and emotional wellbeing based on Christian principle. The conference, which is only for women, is open for all age groups. An amount of Rs.200 will be charged as registration fee.
