Seminar cum free check up in Medziphema Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): A total of 230 women from Medziphema area along other female students attended a Seminar cum free check up at Medziphema Town Hall on May 5. Over 120 women also enrolled and responded for the free check up. The event was organised by by Medziphema Town Women Organisation (MTWO) and Sisterhood Network (SN) in collaboration with Christian Institute of Health Sciences Research (CIHSR) in honour of upcoming ‘Mothers Day,’ a press note from the organiser informed. It further added that many individuals contributed and supported the event with their services, finances and facilities including a medical team from CIHSR (Referal) Dr. Rohan(MD Community Medicine, Dr. Rohit (PG in family Medicine), Dr. Rebeki Momim (Obstetrics and Gynaecologist),nurses and attendants; Sisterhood Network Nancy (Women Coordinator), Cherryl (field supervisor), Merang (marketing in charge);  Sarah Jamir, Medziphema ADC, SMO Medziphema; Deputy CMO, Dimapur; Town Committee Medziphema; and the team leaders of MTWO.  

ASU 1st phase ILP verification drive Kohima, May 7 (MExN): The Angami Students' Union (ASU) is into the third day of its 1st Phase of ILP Verification Drive 2016 at its head office near AIR station, Kohima. According to the latest report, a total of 100 Muslims and 48 Hindus have registered so far. ASU officials have been deployed to various locations in Kohima Town to inform the non-locals to get their verifications done on time.   DAN legislature party meet Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): A meeting of the members of Legislature Parties of Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) will be held at the State Banquet Hall, 11 AM onwards on May 9. A press note from Vice-Chairman, IRCS Dimapur District Branch, Ajay Sethi informed that Kesonyu Yhome, President & K. K. Paul, Honorary Secretary, IRCS Dimapur District Branch have requested all the Patrons, Vice-Patrons, Managing Committee members, Life members, Junior Red Cross members, various NGO leaders of the society & well-wishers to be present at the event. A free Dental Camp will also be organised on the day at Neisatuo colony, it added.   DMLT course approved Kohima, May 7 (MExN): The Department of Health and Family Welfare has informed all concern that the Diploma in Medical Technology (DMLT) course under Para Medical Training Institute, Kohima has been approved and recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. In press release issued by Dr. Watikala, Principal Director, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare extended gratitude to former Commissioner and Secretary, Sentiyanger Imchen, IAS, former Principal Directors for their initiative and support, Dr.Talitemsula, Principal, PMTI, her team and all who worked silently and sincerely.   KMC clearance of clogged drainages Kohima, May 7 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council is undertaking clearance of all clogged drainages on the main road stretch of the town from BOC to High School Area. The public is advised not to dump garbage into the drains anymore as such practices are directly leading to deterioration of town roads and drainages, and also prompting occurrences of landslides and similar other adverse impacts to the town, informed Kovi Meyase, Administrator, KMC.
