GPRN/NSCN cadre arrested
Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): Based on confirmed information about the movement of an armed cadre, the Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 6 Sector Assam Rifles, on April 27, launched an operation and arrested one person from Half Nagarjan area of Dimapur. According to an AR press note, Kheniho Sema, allegedly a cadre of GPRN/NSCN, was intercepted from an Autorickshaw going towards Power House, Half Nagarjan. A 9 mm Pistol with Magazine was recovered in his possession, it said. He was later handed over to the police along with the recovered item.
DCC Dmp consultative meeting
Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): The District Congress Committee Dimapur has informed all its office bearers and executives that a consultative meeting has been convened on May 11, 11AM at Congress Bhavan, Dimapur. The district unit General Secretary (Admn) Hollohon Chishi, through a press note has requested all concerned to attend the meeting positively on the mentioned day.
State JDU Emegency meeting
Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): The Janata Dal United Nagaland Unit has convened an emergency meeting on May 9 at the residence of its President Rhekhum at Nagarjan from 11AM. Informing this in a press note, the State Unit General Secretary (Admin) Lakiu Kips has requested the entire office bearer, executive and national council members to attend the meeting without fail.
Alcohol, cough syrup seized in Chozuba
Phek, May 7 (MExN): Adhoc Town Committee Chozuba, Chozuba Town Women Welfare Society, and Chozuba Town Chakhesang Sudents’ Union conducted a joint operation and seized 159 canned beer and 76 bottles of cough syrup (codeine) in the vicinity of Chozuba Town. The seized items were disposed off at Zero Point, Chozuba on May 2 in the presence of public leaders, youth, students and general public. A press release from the Adhoc Town Committee, Chozuba further cautioned citizens to be alert and affirmed its standing order that trading or consuming intoxicants will not be tolerated even in future.
Draft list of PS under Kohima district
Kohima, May 7 (DIPR): DC Kohima, Rovilato Mor, I.A.S has notified that the draft list of polling station for all the Assembly constituency under Kohima District has been prepared. (8- Western Angami, 9- Kohima Town, 10- Northern Angami-I, 11- Northern Angami-II, 12-Tseminyu, 14- Southern Angami-1 and 15-Southern Angami-II) A copy of the draft list of polling station is available in the office of the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Kohima for public inspection. If there is/are any objection or suggestions to be made in the draft list it should be submitted in writing to the undersigned on or before May 25.
Sub-Treasury Office Longleng informs
Longleng, May 7 (MExN): All the pensioners/family pensioners drawing pension under the Sub-Treasury Office, Longleng, has been informed that they must personally appear before N. Lomching Phom, Sub-Treasury Officer Longleng along with drawing card, life certificate/non-marriage certificate, duly signed by the Administrative Officer for verification from May 24 to 26. No Pension Payment shall be entertained from June 2016, unless the same is verified and finalised.
Nagaland to observe WED 2016 on June 4
Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): The Nagaland Pollution Control Board has informed that the World Environment Day 2016 in Nagaland will be observed on June 4 with a Mass Social Work. Informing this in an official communiqué, the Board stated that it had taken the decision to prepone the date since this year’s World Environment Day (June 5) falls on a Sunday. “Nagaland being a Christian State, it has been decided to observe the day on June 4,” the communiqué stated. The NPCB has appealed to all the citizens to cooperate and participate in the mass social work for 2 hours (from 6am to 8am) and help make Nagaland’s environment cleaner and healthier.
