PGSU NU KC cultural day Kohima, May 9 (MExN): The Post Graduate Students’ Union, Nagaland University Kohima Campus Meriema will hold 14th annual cultural day on May 10 at 10:00 AM at the State Academy Hall, Kohima under the theme “Celebrating ethnicity.” Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar, IAS will be the chief guest while Prof. Pardeshi Lal, pro-vice chancellor, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema will be the guest of honour. The function will be chaired by Chepre Tsido while PGSU president Akumsunep Longchar will deliver presidential address. The cultural day will be marked by traditional attire show, modern ethnic wear, folk song competition, cultural feast etc.   AR constructs borewell at Tening Peren, May 9 (MExN): The 18 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter 6 Sector Assam Rifles constructed a borewell at Tening village as part of the Assam Rifles’ Civic Action programme. It was formally handed over to the village authority by the Company Commander of Assam Rifles in Tening, a press release from the AR informed.   Free health camp in Mon Mon, May 9 (DIPR): Free health screening and immunization of families affected by natural disaster at Techahan Ward in Mon Town was organised by Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, Mon & Mon ADP, World Vision India on May 2 at Government Primary School, Mon Town 'D'. A total number of 405 members were immunized. The medical team focused mainly on children and pregnant women of affected families. The medical team included L. Khobung, World Vision India Manager, Dr. Chimang Paul (Pediatrician), and Dr. Ngampa (PMR), Yarinungla (Lab Tech MMU Mon), and Ngepsei (GNM SHP Mon), Dr. Kumkuiba (team leader) and Azho (GN MMU). Medicines were also provided free of cost.   KMC prohibits meat sale on roadside Kohima, May 9 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) said that it has come to its notice that some individuals are in the practice of selling meat on the roadside, which, it said, is not only against the rules but also unhygienic for the public. KMC has strictly prohibited the same. Any person found violating this notice shall be penalized, it added.   LYO new team takes charge Kohima, May 9 (MExN): The new team of the Lhisemia Youth Organization (LYO), Kohima village for the tenure 2016-18 took over charge of the office on May 7 last. The new team of LYO headed by Kechangulie Miachieo as president, vice president- Kelhoulenyii Tseikha, general secretary – Khrietuolie Sorhie, joint secretary- Neizetuo Suokhrie, treasurer- Razouvolie Mepfhiio, wrestling secretary- Neikuolhou Yhome, games secretary- Neihuzo Dziivichii, athletics secretary- Viliebeizo Liezietsu, cultural secretary- Ketshulhoulie Khruomo, publicity secretary- Kekhrieyie Kesiezie, women coordinators- Ruovomeii Liezietsu, Asanuo Miachieo and Neilatuonuo Dziivichii.   MMC informs Mokokchung, May 9 (DIPR): As per the directive of Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Superintendent, Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) O. Pangjung Longkumer, has informed all Pan Shop owners in Mokokchung Town to remain closed till 1:00 PM on May 10, to mark the observation of No Intoxication Day organized by ABAM.   NEI VBS leadership training prog Dimapur, May 9 (MExN): A leadership training programme will be organised by the NEI, Vacation Bible School Ministries. The programme will be held from June 8- 12 at D.BC. Mt. Miracles, Dimapur. NEI, VBS Director H. Hammei Buchemhu in a press note requested all Association, Churches, Christian School Institutions to send their workers like Pastor/ Secretary, youth Secretary, Director, Christian Education Director/ Secretary, Superintendent S.S. Teacher, and interested young people to attend the programme. He further adds that during the training programme full sponsorship with up and down fare will be given.
