Dimapur, January 30 (MExN): Due to construction of 11kV line at Industrial Area, power supply will be affected in portions of Oriental Colony, Duncan Basti, Industrial Estate, DC Court area, Lingrijan and Taxes Colony in Dimapur from 7:00 am to 11:00 am w.e.f January 31 till the work is completed. Dimapur Electrical Division executive Engineer Moameren in a press release has requested all consumers to bear with the department.
Two arrested with arm

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 30 (MExN): Dimapur Police on January 28 arrested two persons and recovered one .32 pistol with a magazine and five live rounds. Police identified the arrested persons as one Lieutenant Hupeto Aye of the GPRN/NSCN and one Raju Ali, a motor vehicle. The accused were apprehended at Power House colony, Burma Camp at around 8:00 pm after police grew suspicious of their movements.
Sekrünye music festival today
Kohima, January 30 (MExN): The Sekrünye music festival under the aegis of the Chakhesang Music Society will take place on January 31 at Pfutsero with Khriehu Liezietsu, Advisor of the Music Task Force and New & Renewable Energy as the chief guest under the theme " Sing for peace." The programme will start at 11: 00. MK Mero, Commissioner and Secretary for Information and Public relations will be the chief host. The festival will be marked by solo, guitar piece, indigenous duet, quartet, traditional attire display. Divine Connection will act as the guest band.
DDTDWTU intimates DMC on tax
DIMAPUR, JANUARY 30 (MExN): The Dimapur District Truck Drivers Welfare Trade Union has written to the Administrator of the Dimapur Municipal Council, urging intervention over the collection of multiple tax by the DMC. The letter, appended by the President and General Secretary of the DDTDWTU informed that as per the DMC notification dated September 21, 2012, parking tax for trucks plying in Dimapur is fixed at Rs 20 per truck for a day and trucks entering various gates are also taxed according to the said notification. It informed that the current collection of Rs 550 monthly tax per truck by the DMC and collections made at truck garages and places of unloading the goods, such as saw mills, godowns etc by the DMC is “clearly in contravention” to the aforementioned notification. The letter informed that the DDTDWRU members have decided not to pay taxes, which are not prescribed as per the DMC notification published in local dailies on September 21, 2013. It further called upon the DMC administrator to intervene into the matter so as to avoid any untoward incident.
Kohima DPDB announce
award for HSLC toppers
Kohima, January 30 (MExN): The District Planning Machinery, Kohima has informed the school authorities and students of Government High Schools, under Kohima division, that the District Planning & Development Board has declared that it will hold its 5th felicitation programme to award the top 50 in the HSLC examination 2014, in the presence of elected members and member of the DPDB Kohima district. The award ceremony is scheduled to be held on May 15. An amount of Rs. 15,000 along with citation will be awarded to each student. In case no candidate comes up to the required position, the highest aggregate mark with Ist division category will be awarded with lesser amount of cash and citation. The DPDB conveyed its best wishes to all the HSLC candidates and encouraged them to toil hard so as to avail the prestigious award and also make Kohima DPDB proud. This was stated in a release issued by Ketoho Luho, assistant development commissioner & member secretary DPDB, Kohima.
NERIST entrance examination 2014
Dimapur, January 30 (MExN): All concerned are informed that NERIST (North Eastern Region Institute of Science & technology), Nirjuli, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, entrance examination 2014 will be held on April 26 and 27 for which applications will be available on online mode only. Kohima, January 30 (DIPR): The Government of Nagaland has notified transfer and posting of Er K Miachiao, Chief Engineer and Er Imlikumzuk Ao, Additional Chief Engineer. Er K Maichiao is posted and allowed to look after the charge of Transmission & Generation (T&G), Power department with immediate effect; while Er Imlikumzuk Ao, Additional Chief Engineer is posted and allowed to look after the charge of Distribution & Revenue (D&R), Power department with immediate effect. The Establishment matters of Power department shall be looked after by Directorate of Transmission & Generation (T&G) till the complete segregation of both departments are affected. This was issued with the approval of the Chief Minister, Nagaland vide his approval dated January 7, 2014 and in pursuant to the Government notification No AR-6/4/78 (Pt-I) dated Kohima, December 12, 2013 under Rule 62 of the Rules of Executive Business and the procedures laid therein.
