ANTA units meeting held
Kohima, June 22 (MExN): The All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) units of Nagaland held a general meeting on June 17 at Kohima to discuss on some of the important issues of ANTA. The meeting deliberated on the issue of Taxation by the National Workers and affirmed that henceforth ANTA would follow the ‘One Government, One Tax’ theme of the Naga people. The meeting was attended by all the unit presidents and executive members of ANTA Nagaland.
Child care & protection
Kohima, June 22 (MExN): In compliance with the directive of the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India, the State Child Protection Society-Nagaland is inviting organization, individual, church, cooperate sector, business establishment or any other voluntary organization to adopt a Children Home who are providing necessary facilities for care of children below the age of 18 years, in the state to bring up and developed future generation in the right path. This was stated in a release issued by Kohima deputy commissioner Rovilato Mor, IAS, who is also chairman of District Child Protection Committee, Kohima.

Apropos the news item captioned ‘23 Impur AC NPF get new leaders’ published on Wednesday June 22, 2016, in the list of newly sworn in office bearers of NPF Impur assembly constituency, the name Limawapang, Vice President was erroneously mentioned while the name of the Treasurer should be read as Jangsenba and not as rendered. NPF 23 Impur AC Takomeren, President and General Secretary Masazulu in a press release stated that an unedited version of the list of newly sworn in leaders was erroneously handed over to the media persons covering the important occasion.
DC Mokokchung informs
Mokokchung, June 22 (DIPR): District Administration, Mokokchung has invited for District Award to Gazetted/non Gazetted officials from the concerned Head of departments for examination and consideration by the District Level Committee to be awarded on 15th August 2016. While submitting the cases Head of departments are informed to submit 3 years Annual Performance Assessment Report (APAR) of the recommended officials and he should have length of service more than 10 years. The HODs are also informed to recommend along with brief write up about the exceptional contribution of the employee. Concerned HODs may recommend one official for each category/grade and it should be submitted on or before July 15.
Governor to launch Sakhi
Kohima, June 22 (MExN): Nagaland’s governor P.B. Acharya will be launching Sakhi- One Stop Centre & Women Helpline -181 on June 23 at 11:00 AM at One Stop Centre in the premises of District Hospital, Dimapur. Minister for social security & welfare and parliamentary affairs Kiyanilie Peseyie and official from Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India will act as guest of honour.
'Green Monyakshu’ event held
Mon, June 22 (MExN): Coinciding with the World Environment Month and to commemorate the year of Golden Jubilee of Monyakshu Village Baptist Church, plantation drive was organised by the Monyakshu Village Students Union under the theme 'Green Monyakshu’ on June 21 within the village area. Various organisations of the village like the students, church members, Village Council members, women organisation took part in planting the saplings provided by the District Forest Office, Mon and planted more than 500 plants. Meanwhile expressing gratitude on behalf of the people of Monyakshu village, Phaiba Konyak president MVSU and L Sangti Konyak Chairman MVC thanked T. Aochuba IFS, DFO Mon and the forest department for providing the saplings and Hongpi DPRO Mon for transporting the saplings to the village.
International day against drug abuse & illicit trafficking
Kohima, June 22 (MExN): Nagaland along with the rest of the world will be observing international day against drug abuse & illicit trafficking on June 26 at Hotel Japfu Kohima at 2:00 PM under the theme “Listen first.” Minister for social welfare Kiyanilie Peseyie and chief secretary Pankaj Kumar will be the chief guest and guest of honour respectively. Short speech will be delivered by I. Toshitsungba, IPS, IGP Crime (PHQ), Neidonuo Angami former NMA president and Padmashree awardee and Nino Iralu, member secretary NSLSA. The programme will be chaired by Dellirose M. Sakhrie, IAS, secretary social welfare while vote of thanks will be proposed by Abou Mere, director Kripa Foundation.
IRCSN Annual General Meeting postponed
Kohima, June 22 (MExN): The Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland State Branch 3oth Annual General Meeting of the State Branch scheduled on June 27 and 28 has been postponed till further notice due to unavoidable circumstances by the Governor of Nagaland and president IRCSN. While informing this in a press release IRCSN general secretary Dr Kepelhusie Terhuja has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.
