interrupted power supply
Dimapur, February 1 (MExN): Dimapur Lotha Students’ Union has appealed to the Electrical Department to provide “uninterrupted” electricity supply as the final examinations of HSLC, HSSLC and colleges are approaching. A press release appended by DLSU Education & Statistical Secretary Wilson Odyuo further wished all the students the very best in their upcoming exams.
NSCN/GPRN recovers vehicle
Dimapur, February 1 (MExN): NSCN/GPRN staff of Medziphema area arrested three persons involved in car lifting on January 31. A press release issued by Kuthonuzo Khusoh, Secretary to central administrative officer (CAO), UT-I, NSCN/GPRN informed that a Maruti Esteem bearing registration number DL 6CE 9993, engine number – MA3EBE41S00245780 and chassis number 611800 BX was recovered from the accused. They had stolen the car from Dimapur on the evening of January 30, 2014. The accused has been identified as Mezhu-o Chikha (18), Mugagha Assumi (16), and Ekonthung Khuvung (19). The rightful owner has been requested to claim the same within five days by producing original documents of the said vehicle from the office of the Care Taker, UT-I.
PTC informs to renew trade license
Pfutsero, February 1 (MExN): Pfutsero Town Council (PTC) has notified all the business establishments/shops/agencies under its jurisdiction a final call to renew their trade licenses for the year 2014 positively. The date has been fixed on February 5, Wednesday. Pfutsero Town Council Administrator Vikishe Sema in a press release informed those who have not renewed their trade licenses to renew it on the cited date. Defaulters shall be penalized as deemed fit and no excuses shall be entertained, he cautioned.
PVSU held annual general session
Kohima, February 1 (MExN): The Pungro Village Students’ Union (PVSU) held its 43rd annual general session from December 27 to 29 last under the theme “ Engendering brighter tomorrow” with L. Chuba Yim, PA to parliamentary secretary economic & statistics, excise, LM & CP as the chief guest. The three-day session was marked by inter clubs competition in various disciplines like sports, culture, quiz, essay, painting and spelling bee. Meanwhile, in a separate release, the Union congratulated T. Akiuba from its unit elected to the prestigious post of president of Yimchungrü Akheakrü Arihako, the apex student body of Yimchungrü community. This was stated in a release issued by PVSU vice president Akamba K and education and statistical secretary Joseph Yim.

Kohima, February 1 (MExN): The Northern Angami Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (NAGOK) will hold its first general conference cum foundation day on February 6, 3:00 PM at Hotel Vivor, Kohima. Parliamentary secretary for law & justice, land revenue, labour & employment Dr. Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire will grace the conference as the chief guest. Vilie-o Rutsa, president NAPO, Neingunyü Sekhose, president APO and Kekhrielhoutuo Nakhro, president AGOK will also exhort the gathering. The function will be chaired by NAGOK president K. Neibou Sekhose while welcome address will be delivered by NAGOK general secretary Dr. Neilasa Sopfü. Special song will be presented by Dr. Viketoulie Pienyü. The conference will conclude with vote of thanks by NAGOK vice president Thepfusalie Guozi.

Dimapur, February 1 (MExN): It has been informed that the list of amendments of draft electoral roll for Dimapur-I, Dimapur II, Dimapur III, Ghaspani I, and Ghaspani II assembly constituencies has been prepared with reference to January 1, 2014 as qualifying date and in accordance with the registration of Electors Rules, 1960. A copy of the said e-roll together with the list of amendments has been published and will be available for inspection at the office of Electoral Registration Officer, Dimapur.
Blood donation camp held
Kohima, February 1 (MExN): A blood donation camp was conducted during the Combined Annual Training Camp of No1 Nagaland Air Squadron (Flying) NCC at the premises of Home Guard Training Center, Toluvi on January 31, 2014. The blood donation Camp was conducted in association with ‘The Model Blood Bank, District Hospital, Dimapur’, a global association to promote young blood donors in Nagaland. According to a press release issued by PRO (Defence) Kohima, Lt Col E Musavi, volunteers from NCC, college students, staffs of NCC, etc participated by donating blood. Blood donors were provided with donor badge, donor card and donor certificate of appreciation. The blood donation camp was conducted under the guidance of Dr T Temsu and his team, the release added. A total number of 400 cadets are taking part in the Combined Annual Training Camp under the supervision of Camp Commandant Squadron Leader C Kishor.
