Decision final and binding on Abel: NSCN (R) Dimapur, November 11 (MExN): The NSCN (R) today responded to the clarification of Abel, its former cadre who “defected to GPRN/ NSCN with huge money of NSCN (R)”, stating that “nothing can justify the crime Abel had committed.” The NSCN (R) asserted that its decision on Abel is “final and binding and no forces can stop action on him.” It stated it will not write nor hear any rejoinder anymore against any accusation by Abel under any circumstances. 14th NLA session Kohima, November 11 (MExN): The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) today finalized the provisional programme for the ensuing 14th session of the 12th NLA. The Committee has decided to have two days session from November 22 to 24. During the session, the following businesses will be taken up: Obituary References, if any; Laying of Reports/ Papers/ Rule; Introduction of Government Bills, if any; Introduction of Government Resolutions; Adoption of Government Resolutions; Unfinished Business, if any. AR conducts medical camp at children home Kohima, November 11 (MExN): 9 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 5 Sector Assam Rifles conducted a free medical camp at Bright Morning Star Children Home, Kohima on November 9. A specially constituted medical team under CMO Dr. N Sandhyarani of 9 Assam Rifles conducted the medical camp, wherein children and staff of the Children Home were treated, informed a press release from Assam Rifles. All children were screened for various ailments of throat, ear, eyes chest etc. Vision test was also conducted for all the children. In addition, blood and routine urine test were conducted and de-worming was done for all the children. Apart from providing medical assistance, basic knowledge on health education including precaution from common viral diseases was also imparted. MITE launches Red Ribbon Club Kohima, November 11 (MExN): Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE) launched its Red Ribbon Club on November 11 at the college auditorium. The programme commenced with invocation by Thungchibeni Humtsoe and welcome address from Devanand Sinha, Principal, MITE. Brief orientation about the Red Ribbon Club aims, objectives, activities and outcomes was presented by Ainato Yeptho, Assistant Director (Youth Affairs), NSACS. Alipoker Aier, Assistant Director (Voluntary Blood Donation), NSACS provided information and awareness regarding HIV and AIDS. He also spoke on how to prevent them. Kholi Dolf, President, Voluntary Blood Donor Association, Kohima stressed on certain facts, importance and health benefits of donating blood. Doubts and queries on blood donation were also clarified to the audience. A press release from MITE said that the programme concluded with voluntary blood testing. Zunheboto district administration undertakes road maintenance drive Zunheboto, November 11 (MExN): The Zunheboto district administration undertook a road maintenance drive at Akuluto on November 10. Villagers of Akuluto participated actively assisted by the Company Operating Base of 5 Assam Rifles. According to a press release from the AR, the drive was initiated with a view “to spread awareness about importance of proper road communication and the need to maintain it.” The release stated that the road condition between Lumami and Akhuluto Town under Zunheboto district had worsened after monsoon “with increasing number of potholes and water logging” thereby making vehicle movement slow and arduous. Interaction between AR and village leaders Kohima, November 11 (MExN): Commander of Chakabama Company 9 Assam Rifles organized an interaction programme with GBs, chairmen and youth presidents of six places of Kezocha sub division, namely Kezo Town, Kezoma, Kezo Basa, Kikruma, RD Block and Kidima on November 8. A press release from Assam Rifles informed that the interaction focused on present security situation, issues of forceful taxation and ways to further enhance cooperation between security forces and villagers. Valuable suggestions were brought out to further improve the relationship between both the security forces and general population during the meeting, which ended with both parties vowing to stand together to work for long lasting peace and prosperity in the region, the release added. Phek Town to Losami village road to be repaired Phek, November 11 (DIPR): Phek District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) resolved to repair the road from Phek Town to Losami village during its monthly meeting held on November 10 at DC’s conference hall, Phek. Earlier, the chairman DPDB and Parliamentary Secretary for Higher Education & Technical Education, Deo Nukhu welcomed all the members followed by reviewing of the last meeting’s minutes. He also introduced and welcomed the new members. Horticulture and Social Welfare presented their department activities.
