Kohima, January 19 (MExN): The Kohima Press Club (KPC) will be observing its 13th foundation day on January 20 at the KPC conference hall at 11:00 AM. Voto Neikha, PS to Parliamentary Secretary for Information & Public Relations will grace the occasion as special guest. Highlights of the programme will include invocation by KPC vice president, Ketu Viluo, welcome address by KV Nurumi and vote of thanks by KPC president Kopelo Krome. Xavier Rutsa will chair the function.
Customers resent shifting of
MARCOFED booking office
Kohima January 19 (MExN): The subscribers of MARCOFED LPG cylinder are expressing strong resentment towards shifting the booking office of MARCOFED, Kohima to a distant place. According to the consumers of MARCOFED, the stock of LPG Cylinder in the heart of the town may be dangerous, but booking office in Kohima should be at a reachable limit of the consumers in the heart of the town. They have appealed to the MARCOFED authorities to open one booking office at a central place of Kohima so the consumers can book their LPG cylinder at a reachable place.
Naga Hoho express sadness
Dimapur, January 19 (MExN): Naga Hoho has expressed sadness over the demise of Leichiamle, mother of Elu Ndang, Assembly Secretary, Naga Hoho on January 19, after a prolonged illness. A condolence message issued by Naga Hoho general secretary, Mutsikhoyo said, “In her death, we have loss a mother who was kind hearted.” Naga Hoho prayed for her soul to rest in eternal peace. Further, it prayed that God grant her bereaved family serenity and calmness at this hour of grief.
NPCC meeting on January 24
Kohima, January 19 (MExN): A meeting of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) office bearers, PCC members and frontal chiefs will be held on January 24, 11:00 AM at Congress Bhavan, Kohima. Stating this in a release, NPCC general secretary Medokul Sophie requested all the members concerned to attend the said meeting without fail.
Sumi Hoho general meeting
Dimapur, January 19 (MExN): Sumi Hoho has called a general meeting with all the Sumi frontal organizations on January 31, 10 AM at Sumi Hoho Ki Zunheboto. In a release, Sumi Hoho general secretary Vihuto Assumi has asked representatives from the Western Sumi Hoho, Northern Sumi Sub-Hoho, Eastern Sumi Sub-Hoho, Sumi Kukami Hoho, former presidents of Sumi Hoho and representatives from all the Sumi frontal organisations to attend the meeting.
ZPO (N) emergency meeting held
Jalukie, January 19 (MExN): Zeliang People Organisation Nagaland ZPO (N) held an emergency executive meeting in Jalukie Town on January 19, 2014 and adopted resolutions. According to a press communiqué issued by ZPO (N) Media Cell, the meeting affirmed the Resolution No.2 of August 23, 2012 of the Zeliang People Organisation Nagaland’s general meeting which stated, “that any matter concerning the welfare of Zeliang People of Peren District shall be solely responsible by the Zeliang People Organisation Nagaland and no other organisation is competent to do so, as such, no organisation shall be allowed to determine the future of indigenous Zeliang people of Nagaland.” The meeting also resolved that information on the forthcoming general session of the Zeliang People Organisation Nagaland will be decided upon and notification will be served at the earliest.
Army conducts medical camp
Dimapur, January 19 (MExN): HQ 3 Corps organized a medical camp at Zion School, Kacharigaon village, Dimapur on January 18, 2014. The camp was inaugurated by Brigadier CS Ahluwalia, of HQ 3 Corps.A press release informed that a team of 5 doctors from the medical and dental units of Rangapahar provided free medical checkup and treatment for various common ailments prevalent in the civil population. The team also included Eye Specialist and Dentist to cater to patients with specific Eye and Dental problems. A dressing station was also set up in the camp. In addition, innovative posters and pamphlets on health awareness and common preventable diseases were displayed for educating the public on the same. More than 300 patients, including approximately 200 women, received free medical treatment offered at the camp, the note added.
