Free vocational training 
Kohima, March 15 (MExN): Brigadier KK Roy Choudhury, SM, VSM Director Directorate Sainik Welfare & Resettlement has informed that the following vocational training program would be organised free of cost at the Directorate for Ex – servicemen, families and youth: (a)    Embroidery, kitting and stitching from March 18 onwards minimum qualification Class Eight (b) Career guidance and Awareness capsule from March 19, 10:40 am onwards; (c) Coaching classes for Indian Navy and Territorial Army recruitment from March 25 onwards. All interested candidates are requested to visit the Directorate above Alder College HS Road Kohima for registration and enrollment starting March 18 onwards.

Holikali Yepthomi appointed in NEICC 
Dimapur, March 15 (MExN): Holikali Yepthomi (M.Th) has been appointed as the Secretary, Women Assembly of the North East India Christian Council (NEICC) based in Shillong, Meghalaya. She will be officially installed on April 6 during the 11th Biennial of the NEICC Women Assembly. The NEICC is an ecumenical body of the Protestant churches in North East India, which is a constituent member of the National Council of Churches in India (NCCI). SBTA General Secretary, Phushito L. Chishi in a press release while felicitating Holikali Yepthomi hoped that she will discharge her duties diligently as assigned and under the patronage of NEICC. She will be further trained for the greater needs of the church and society.  

NECU resolves to check illegal connection
Kohima, March 15 (MExN): Nagaland Electrical Contractors’ Union (NECU) has resolved to check illegal service connection and electrification without permit. According to a press release issued by NECU president Kevichulie and vice president H Thong, this was decided during an emergency meeting of the union held in Dimapur on March 12 in the presence of NECU president. The union stated that it will keep vigil against unauthorized person executing electrification works either big or small. It also informed that penalty will be strictly enforced upon the person/ party.   

Phek Medical Board for exemption of election duty
Phek, March 15 (DIPR): The Phek District Level Medical Board Meeting has been scheduled on March 20 at the SDO (C) HQ Chamber Phek at 11:00 a.m. for exemption from Election duty on medical ground for the forthcoming 16th Lok Sabha Election 2014. Assistant Election Officer, Phek Olivi Thur has directed all Committee Members to attend the same. 

Polling personnel training in Mkg
Mokokchung, March 15 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner & Assistant Returning Officer, Mokokchung, has informed all concerned that the training schedule for the polling personnel in connection with 16th Lok Sabha election will be as follows: March 24 – 2nd polling officers and 3rd polling officers; March 25 – Presiding officers and 1st polling officers; April 7 – All polling personnel combined. The time for all the trainings will be from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Town Hall, Mokokchung. All polling personnel have been directed to attend the training without fail. Failure to attend the trainings shall be viewed seriously and disciplinary proceedings will be initiated as per the provisions of law.

Rengma Students Union supports NSSATA
Tseminyu, March 15 (MExN): The Rengma Students Union (RSU) strongly support the Nagaland Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers Association (NSSATA) and appeal the Education Department to release all the pending salaries of the SSA teachers as it is the only source of income for the teachers to make ends meet and they rightly deserve to be paid in time. RSU Vice President Zapi Kath in a press release said that the Union is taking the matter with serious concern as the Government Schools were affected owing to boycotting of classes by SSA teachers besides the future of thousands students were at stake if the issues were not solved. The RSU appeal the Department of School Education to address the issue sincerely and solve the problem before the prevailing situation becomes irreparable. 

Training for Zunheboto election officers
Zunheboto, March 15 (DIPR): In view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, training for the polling personnel has been fixed in phase wise. 2nd phase training for presiding and 1st polling officers at town hall Zunheboto on 18th March 2014 at 10:00 a.m., 2nd polling and 3rd polling officers at town hall Zunheboto on 19th March 2014 at 10:00 a.m. and 3rd Phase of training for presiding and 1st polling officers at town hall Zunheboto on 4th April 2014 at 10:00 a.m. and 2nd polling and 3rd polling officers at town hall on 5th April 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Therefore all the polling personnel are directed to attend the training programme without fail and that all are further directed to submit two (2) passport size photographs on the 2nd phase of training.

Work-charged staff in Dimapur district informed
Dimapur, March 15 (MExN): All the department work-charged staff under Dimapur district are informed that there will be an emergency meeting on March 17, 10:00 am at Dimapur State Stadium concerning the Nagaland Inter-Departmental Field Staff Association’s proposed demonstration on March 21. All the work-charged staff concerned have been requested to attend the meeting.
