NSF Martyrs Day today
KOHIMA, MARCH 19 (MExN): The Naga Students Federation will be commemorating the 28th NSF Martyrs Day as a sign of paying homage to Lt. Vikhozo Yhoshü and late Kekuojalie Sachu on March 20 at 9 AM at NSF Martyrs Park, Kohima. The Federation, in a press note, invited all the senior leaders, Tribunals, Federating units/sub ordinate bodies with at least 5 members, bereaved family members and relatives, students from Mezhur Higher Secondary School Kohima and Govt. Higher Secondary School, Seikhazou to attend.

Dimapur police recover stolen vehicle
DIMAPU, MARCH 19 (MExN): Dimapur Police on March 18 recovered a vehicle which was carjacked at gunpoint by four miscreants on the night of March 17. A press note from the Dimapur SP office informed that the miscreants managed to escape under the cover of darkness, leaving the vehicle abandoned. The vehicle was handed over to the owner and investigation is on to arrest the culprits, police stated. 

GPRN/NSCN informs
DIMAPUR, MARCH 19 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN has informed all its rank and files, including the regional and Military wings to reach the Council headquarters, at designated camp, Khehoi before 08:30 AM, on March 21, for the Republic day celebration. This was informed in a press note from the MIP.

FGN Lotha region informs
DIMAPUR, MARCH 19 (MExN): The Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) Lotha Region has informed that “unknown/unauthorized FGN workers are forcefully demanding illegal tax and donations in the name of the FGN Lotha Region.” A press note from Mhatung Ovung, Medan Peyu, Lotha Region, informed every head of department, departments, contractors, business establishments and other establishments that fall under the Lotha region to “ignore such illegal taxation and donation without written authorization” given by the Meda Peyu of the said region. AR apprehend NSCN (K) cadre
KOHIMA, MARCH 19 (MExN): The 31 Assam Rifles on March 17 apprehended one NSCN (K) cadre from Phom Basti, Changtongya. A press note from Lt Col AS Chauhan, PRO to the Assam Rifles identified the cadre as one Lt Imtimeren. One pistol, a 12 bore gun and ammunition were recovered in the operation. The apprehended cadre was later handed over to the Changtongya Police Station. 

Excise seizes IMFL, narcotics
Dimapur, March 19 (MExN): In a drive to check all forms of illegal trafficking and smuggling of liquor, drugs for the last three months i.e. from January 1 to March 19, 2014, the narcotic cell has detected 25 cases and a total of 27 persons were arrested. The quantity seized included Opium-4kgs; ganja-75 kgs; other drugs-34,500 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon and IMFL-814 bottles. The ‘street value’ of the seized drugs and liquor is estimated at approximately Rs. 19,70,100. This was informed in a press release issued by Dimapur district deputy commissioner of excise (NC) Pitongse Sangtam. 

Complaint Redressal Cell in Mkg 
Mokokchung, March 19 (MExN): For smooth functioning and operation of the MCC/Helpline/ Complaint Redressal Cell in the District election Control Room, the concerned HoDs under mentioned are requested to detail 2(two) representatives each to the District Joint Control Room, Deputy Commissioner Office till the completion of Election, 2014: Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung; DPRO, Mokokchung; District & Session Judge, Mokokchung; Regional Transport Officer, Mokokchung; and Assistant Director Supply, Mokokchung. In addition, all the members of the MCC/ Helpline/ Complaint Redressal Team are requested to attend meeting in the Addl. Deputy Commissioner Office Chamber at 11:00 AM on March 20. All are requested to attend the meeting positively. This was informed in a press release issued by Mokokchung Deputy Commissioner & DEO Murohu Chotso. 

Railway Bazar residents resolve
DIMAPUR, MARCH 19 (MExN): The Railway Bazar permanent residents’ youth Dimapur held its general meeting on March 16 at Railwat Bazar, Dimapur. A press note informed that the meeting discussed about the cleanliness of the colony and resolved to have a social work twice a month. In pursuance to the circular given by the administrator, DMC cum ADC Dimapur, the house reiterated to all shop owners to strictly adhere and follow the timing of throwing garbage. Election for new office bearers for the tenure 2014-2016 was also held at the meeting. The new team is now headed by President Ebouding Haining, Vice President Vijay, General Secretary Ganesh Prasad, Treasurer Akolie Nakhro, along with other office bearers.
